Experiencing His Hand

‘But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel’ Acts 9:15.

‘The Hand of God’, is a term people loosely use to describe the Power of God. When God’s hand is upon any situation, the game is sure to change. When you seek His Hand you get access to His power. For centuries man has sought the Hand of God for various reasons. The power of God doesn’t change us; it is His presence that changes us. That is why it is possible for people to experience God’s power perhaps in healing and still remain unsaved. Judas experienced the Hand of God for three years. He even had bread multiply in his hands but he betrayed Jesus. Gehazai experienced the power of God; the resurrection of the dead, healing and loads more. Yet because of his greed his life did not change. I have encountered people who experienced God’s Hand awesomely but it did not change them. One particularly striking encounter; I had never before experienced. At a vigil one night, I felt the Holy Spirit say to me He was canceling a tithe debt. Just like that, forgiven and He gave the person a fresh start. Later on, some guy came to me and said the word was for him. This young man starts to experience tremendous success in his business. Three months later, this same young man says it is impossible to pay his tithe in cash because it will be too much. And he does not want to write a cheque because he would rather be anonymous and that was it. Unbelievable right? Did he experience the power; did his life change? While it is important to seek God’s Hand to be strong on our behalf, we have to be more passionate about seeking His face. What do you really want– his hand or his face? I want both! The beauty about God is that you do not have to choose one above the other. You can seek both – to see His face and experience His hand move mightily.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the move of Your Hand in my life and in all that concerns me. Teach me how to go about seeking both Your presence and Your power, in Jesus Name.
