His Protocols

‘Do not come any closer, the Lord warned. Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground …When Moses heard this, he covered his face because he was afraid to look at God’ Ex.3:5; 6b

God has His protocols. The key to maximizing your time with God is understanding the protocol of His presence and the protocol of His power. Access to God is one thing, and approaching Him is a totally different thing all together. The protocol of His presence and power are intertwined but can be separated. God in His word outlines the code of behavior for approaching the King of Kings. Make the most of your access into His presence by knowing and understanding God’s protocols.

Protocol 1: ‘Enter His gates with thanksgiving; go into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His NamePs.100:4. Do not enter His gates with grumbling or complaining.

Protocol 2: ‘Who has believed our message? To whom has the LORD revealed His powerful arm?’ Isa.53:1. If you want to see the hand of God, the protocol of His power is Believe.

Protocol 3: ‘Listen! The LORD’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is His ear too deaf to hear you call. It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, He has turned away and will not listen anymore’ Isa.59:1-2. Repentance is protocol No.3. Sin is a show stopper with God. It is a powerful insulator from the power and presence of God.

Protocol 4: ‘If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened’ Ps.66:18. The protocol of His presence is not regarding iniquity in my heart.

Protocol 5: ‘So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time He will lift you up in honor1 Pet.5:6. Humility; Moses took off his sandals and bowed himself before God.

Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Eph.5:1[MSG]. However, the first step to approaching God at all is ensuring Jesus Christ is your Lord and Saviour.

Prayer: Father, teach me how to behave in Your presence. Help me know, understand and practice Your protocols in Jesus Name.
