Of Pharaoh

Exodus 2:10 “Later, when the boy was older, his mother brought him back to Pharaoh’s daughter, who adopted him as her own son. The princess named him Moses, for she explained, “I lifted him out of the water.”

Yesterday, we said that in introducing Jesus, God shows us the concept of the star. While the enemy’s three-point agenda is to kill, steal, and destroy, Jesus has come to give us life and life more abundantly. The first way the enemy attacks stars is he puts them off. Read the rest of this entry

The Star

Matthew 5:14-15 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.”

I am praying for you in the Name of Jesus that God will open your eyes and give you understanding. Some of us already understand some of the things we are going to get into over the next few days, but for some, it will be shocking; and for some others, it will come across as too hard. Matthew 2:“Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east and are come to worship him.” (KJV).

It is clear from scripture that the wise men were not guessing, neither were they asking, “has there been any born King of the Jews?” These men had been on a two-year journey, seeking Jesus. You can say that these people were not Christians, you can also say that they were occultic people. Read the rest of this entry

Increase Influence

Matthew 5:15-16 “No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

The three keys to increasing your presence are Evaluate The Why Of Your Distractions (why are you distracted?), Identify Your Relational Values (what is important to you?), and Shut Down Occasionally To Eliminate The Distractions And Align With Your Values. Read the rest of this entry

Three Keys

Romans 12:2 “Don’t be so conformed to culture that you fit into it without thinking. Instead, let God transform you by changing the way you think.” (MSG/NLT)

Today, we will delve deeper into the three keys to increase our presence. The first key is, Evaluate The Why Of Your Distractions. Why are you distracted and why do you struggle to be present? What is your why? Psalm 46:10aBe still, and know that I am God!” Are you struggling to be still? Why? Read the rest of this entry

Distracted?

Luke 10:40-42 “…Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing… But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

What is distracting you from the throne today? Is it your bank account? Sometimes, it is the busyness of work; you have to get up and go, no time for God. You cannot even carve out time to shut yourself in with God. What is on the stove today? Read the rest of this entry

Only One

Luke 10:41-42 “But the Lord said to her, “Martha, dear friend, you are so upset over all these details! There is really only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it—and I won’t take it away from her!” (LB, emphasis added).

When it comes to our children it is important to realize that we need to ask them questions and engage with them. Guess what? There will come a time when our influence in their lives diminishes. Research shows that a parent typically has nine hundred and thirty-six weeks from birth to influence a child. Read the rest of this entry

Create Connections

Luke 9:18&20 “One day Jesus left the crowds to pray alone. Only his disciples were with him, and he asked them, “Who do people say I am?” …Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Messiah sent from God!”

We need to realize that many things that have become urgent or that technology tries to make urgent to us, are not actually urgent. Those things can wait. For instance, I have a half hourglass that I use for my focus times. When I block out time to focus on scripture or to pray, until the half hourglass is done, I do not stop. Just Listen!

Romans 12:2 “Don’t be so conformed to culture that you fit into it without thinking. Instead, let God transform you by changing the way you think.” (MSG/NLT)

Yesterday, we established that listening is a language of love, listening validates people, and listening communicates value. You must learn to listen, just listen. For a lot of us, our parents sent us away when we initiated conversations with them. Read the rest of this entry

Pay Attention

James 1:19 “Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener], slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and], slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving]” (AMP)

In my walk with God, I have gone through seasons of dryness, seasons where it seems like I am searching for Jesus like Mary and Joseph (Luke 2:41-50). One of my fastest ways of reconnecting is calling up a friend that I know loves Jesus and talking about scriptures. Read the rest of this entry
