Who Are You Speaking To?

‘And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me… And God granted him that which he requested’ 1 Chr.4:10 [KJV].

Guess what, just like the man of God, you too can go directly to God to get curses broken. According to scripture, the man Jabez was cursed from birth by his mother. And Jabez realizing the negative effect of the curses went to the God of Israel – the God of men. Jabez cried to the God of Israel ‘Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed’. What Jabez was saying in essence was – reverse this curse Lord and Read the rest of this entry

Except By Him

‘Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me’ John 14:6

As Christians we are in constant danger of false assurances. ‘…When we display our righteous deeds,
they are nothing but filthy rags…’ Isa.64:6. God has helped you live a clean life without fornication, adultery, stealing, and killing – God helped you by the power of the Holy Spirit. When you begin to approach God based on your goodness, you are placing yourself under the curse of the law. For some people this is all that needs to be taken care of and they will enter their inheritance this year. Realize that in your strength and by Read the rest of this entry

You Will Excel

Judah, you are he whom your brothers shall praise; Your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; Your father’s children shall bow down before you’ Gen.49:8 [NKJV]

Today’s word is a declaration over our destinies so I need you to take it very personally. God’s word for you today is ‘you will excel’ [you will prosper]. It is important for you to receive this word and take it personally. Declare it over yourself, calling your name out loud ‘…I will excel’. Read Gen.49:1-4 & 8-10 [NKJV]. What plays out in this portion of scripture is the dynamics of blessings and curses. For you to go far in life you must understand the dynamics of blessings and curses. You must leverage on blessings so that you will gain Read the rest of this entry

Unconscious Prophecy

‘Here comes the dreamer!” they said… Then we’ll see what becomes of his dreams!’ Gen.37:19-20

For Joseph it was his dreams, for Abraham and Sarah it was a promise from Jehovah, and for David it was what he had witnessed God do first hand. One thing these people had in common was they knew what God had said concerning them even though everything else seemed to be working contrary. For some of us, we can identify with these people because we are in similar situations. Some have been married for years and are still trusting God for the fruit of the womb because you know that God has said about you ‘be fruitful and Read the rest of this entry

Irony of the Cross #4

He trusted God, so let God rescue him now if he wants him! For he said, ‘I am the Son of God’ Matt.27:43.

The fourth irony of the cross is the man who had been ‘abandoned’ by God trusts God. [Read Matt.27:43-51]. ‘He trusted God, so let God rescue him now if he wants him!’ This statement is filled with sarcasm not towards God but towards Jesus; questioning the trust that Jesus had for God. For everyone that Read the rest of this entry

Irony of the Cross #2

Along the way, they came across a man named Simon, who was from Cyrene, and the soldiers forced him to carry Jesus’ cross’ Matt.27:32

The second irony of the cross is the man who is utterly powerless is actually the most powerful. [Read Matt.27:32-40]. Jesus was slapped, spat on, beaten, flogged on the head and he was stack naked. And he was too weak to carry his cross. They had to call Simon to carry his cross. And in all of this they still mocked him. They said to Jesus ‘for us to know you are the savior come down’. Yet Jesus was saying ‘for me to actually save you I need to stay on the cross’. The irony here is that it was only by staying on the cross that Jesus Read the rest of this entry

At The Son

But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture’ Mal.4:2

The eagle can gaze directly at the sun in its full strength and not go blind. When the eagle first comes out of its shell at birth two things happen. It’s mouth is open and its eyes are gazing directly at the sun. Based on that, during an attack the eagle is able to fly straight in the direction of the sun because no other Read the rest of this entry

Face The Storm II

‘…When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm’ Luke 8:24

Don’t wish your task were easier, wish you were better’ Jim Rohn. Don’t wish that all the financial problems will disappear, instead pray that God would empower you to solve them. Then you will become a stronger person. A lot of people’s reaction to this kind of teaching is usually silence and in some cases Read the rest of this entry

Face The Storm I

‘He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. What a blessing  was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor’ Ps.107:29.

The eagle soars along the direction of the wind. An eagle looks for and flies into the storm. When a storm is raging, an eagle flies straight into the storm. Other lesser birds [chickens, pigeons, parrots, vultures] will run for cover.

Fearless

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline2 Tim.1:7

The first secret or attribute of the eagle that God wants us to imbibe is that the eagle is fearless. The eagle has absolutely no fear of its prey regardless of its size. This is how God wants us to be – fearless. God’s Spirit is not the spirit of fear. Research results from some Bible scholars indicates that the word ‘fear Read the rest of this entry
