God’s Word for us this year is establishment. One key to establishment is being planted in the Lord’s own house. Everyone is planted somewhere. When God wants us to flourish, He transplants us. Your location will determine whether you will flourish or you will wither. Like the story of Naomi and Ruth, they had to be transplanted back to Jerusalem so they could flourish [Ruth 1]. God plants us so that we can flourish. We were created for connectedness. Yet as connected as the world is technology wise [social media], what a lot of people have are plastic relationships. In actual sense there are no real relationships. People have over a thousand friends on the social network but no friends in reality. Once they get off the social network, they are lonely. This is not what God wants. God wants us to be planted. If someone had the rights, enablement, and capacity to go solo it was Jesus. Jesus could do without anybody. Jesus had all the anointing He needed for His ministry. He had all of heaven’s and earth’s resources at His disposal. If He ran out of money, all He had to do was catch a fish. This same Jesus when He missed His boat simply walked on water. When He had to feed 5000 people with only five loaves and two fish, He just gave thanks and it began to multiply. Jesus’ life was highly funded. He did not really need anyone. Yet Jesus did life with people, He did not run solo. Many of us want to run our lives solo. That is not what God wants for you. If you chronicle your life, you will find that every life changing decision you make connects you with someone. When you give your life to Christ, you are connected to the Man Jesus. When you get married, you are connected to your spouse. Finally when you decide to be connected [planted] in a local Church. These three life changing decisions connect you with people. It is when you are planted that you will grow roots and bear fruit. God wants us to be planted in a Church family so we can flourish and be established.

Prayer: Lord, cause me to be planted according to Your will.
