I will execute <strong><u>judgment against all the gods of Egypt<\/u><\/strong>, for I am the Lord!\u201d [with emphasis].<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The ten sequential disasters [plagues] God unleashed on Egypt were targeted at the gods of Egypt. The first plague, turning the Nile to blood, was a judgment against <strong>Apis<\/strong>, the god of the Nile, <strong>Isis<\/strong>, goddess of the Nile, and <strong>Khnum<\/strong>, guardian of the Nile.<!--more--> With this one plague, God judged all three gods. The second plague of frogs was a judgment against <strong>Heqet<\/strong>, the frog-headed goddess of birth. The third plague of gnats was a judgment on <strong>Set<\/strong>, the god of the desert. The fourth plague, flies, was a judgment on <strong>Uatchit<\/strong>, the fly god. The fifth plague, the death of livestock, was a judgment on the cattle goddess <strong>Hathor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The sixth plague of boils was a judgment against the gods over health and disease: <strong>Sekhmet<\/strong>, <strong>Sunu<\/strong>. The seventh plague of hail, attacked <strong>Nut<\/strong>, the sky goddess; <strong>Osiris<\/strong>, the crop fertility god; and <strong>Set<\/strong>, the storm god. The eighth plague of locusts, again focused on <strong>Nut<\/strong>, <strong>Osiris<\/strong>, and <strong>Set<\/strong>. Some of their gods had different areas of influence but God dealt with all of them. The ninth plague, darkness, was aimed at the sun god, <strong>Re<\/strong>, who was symbolized by Pharaoh himself. The tenth and last plague, the death of the firstborn males, was a judgment on <strong>Isis<\/strong>, the protector of children.<\/p>\n<p>Knowing that God was executing judgement against the gods of Egypt helps us better appreciate Mariam\u2019s songs of worship in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/1\/EXO.15.11.KJV\">Ex.15:<sup>11<\/sup>\u00a0(KJV)<\/a> \u201c<em>Who is like unto thee, O Lord, <strong>among the gods<\/strong>? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?<\/em>\u201d Mariam was acknowledging that God is in a class of His own. It begins to make sense that the songs that flowed after were in praise to God, a God that is higher than every other god. This same God is issuing this command to every pharaoh right now, \u201clet my people go\u201d. Peradventure pharaoh refuses, there will be casualties.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/116\/eph.6.12\">Eph.6:<sup>12<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0<em>\u201cFor we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.\u201d<\/em> When the human representation is unrepentant, there will be casualties. The prince of Persia referred to in the Book of Daniel was a spiritual principality over that nation. But the earthly ruler of Persia was so knitted to the spiritual representation that it was impossible to deal with the spiritual representation and not see an immediate impact on the physical person. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/1\/exo.8.19\">Ex.8:<sup>19<\/sup>\u00a0(KJV)<\/a> \u201c<em>This is the finger of God!\u201d the magicians exclaimed to Pharaoh. But Pharaoh\u2019s heart remained hard. <strong>He wouldn\u2019t listen to them<\/strong><\/em>\u2026\u201d God puts people tagged for destruction on this path.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Prayer<\/strong>: Lord, execute instant judgment on every god of Egypt in my life, in Jesus Name.
