The truth is that your parents, spouse, siblings, cousins may really love you but the question is can they really die for you? It might help you to ask your loved ones. However if it is your husband, the answer should be yes because the Bible says ‘husbands love your wives even as Christ loves the church by dying for the church’. I can die for my wife and she knows it. Yet the truth is that, even if I were to die for her my blood cannot save her. So I point us towards Jesus whose blood can save all of us. Jesus died for me. When I read John 3:16, I take it personally. So for me it will read something like this ‘For God so loved me Femi Monehin, that he gave Jesus to die for me, so that through my belief in him I would not perish, but have everlasting life’ John 3:16. When I read scripture, I personalize the love of God. I don’t see Jesus as dying for the whole world, yes he did, but I see Jesus as dying for me. So this keeps me in constant appreciation of the atoning sacrifice. You have to embrace the love of God. A survey was conducted in the US and it was discovered that as devoted as pet owners are to their pets, none of them was prepared to die for their pets. Instead many of them would rather opt for another pet. But God did it; He came and died for you and I. That is awesome. God loves you now. Not yesterday, not tomorrow, but now. God does not love you only when you have prayed for six hours. Unfortunately because of our indoctrination we have this idea that when we have done one mighty spiritual act for God that it is then and only then that God loves us. Listen God loves you now and you have to take it personally. As a church what we call ourselves ‘God’s Favourite House’ in itself is personalizing the love of God. The truth is you will have what you say. But the point is you need to embrace God’s love and make it personal. God didn’t just die for your neighbor, God died for you.

Prayer: Lord, help me better experience Your love for me. Give me the power to understand how wide, how long, how high, and how deep Your love is. So that I will be made complete with all the fullness of Your love, in Jesus Name[Eph.3:18-19].

‘But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation’ Rom.5:8-9. To live free, the second thing I must do is embrace […]

[25

post-2144","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-love
["GET
