Jesus puts it this way ‘Go and find out’. For a lot of us Jesus is saying bring the donkey, I need the donkey. And we are asking what donkey, where is the donkey? The disciples probably had the same question on their minds. But before they could ask, Jesus said ‘go and find out’. What is before you? The next thing you need to do is find out what we have. Don’t be quick to say nothing, go and find out. Please Read 2kings 4:1-7. ‘What can I do to help you? Elisha asked. Tell me, what do you have in the house? Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil, she replied’. Anyone that wants a miracle must always start from where God will start. Elisha’s first response was to the widow was ‘what do you have?’ What can I work with? The widow response was ‘nothing’. So Elisha kept quiet, after all when she is ready she will come up with something. Finally she said, ‘except for a jar of olive oil, just a small jar’. As far as she was concerned what she had was insignificant compared to the need. It was a debt so huge she would have to sell her two sons. What could a jar of olive oil possible amount to – nothing. Yet Elisha saw the little she had as something. God would always ask ‘what do you have’; hence its time to ask yourself the same question.

Moses stood before God in Exodus 3 and God said to Moses ‘what is that in your hand?’ To Moses it was just a rod but to God it was already an extraordinary rod. And from that day forward, the rod was called the rod of God in the hand of Moses. A significant difference. What do you have in your hand? God will start with what you have. The boy had his lunch. How can Jesus even want to collect a boy’s lunch, is that fair? It may appear unfair that Jesus would ask the boy for his lunch because there was a great need for the people. But is it fair for the boy to go out of his house with a lunch box and come back with 12 baskets full?
