{"id":21762,"date":"2021-08-18T00:01:13","date_gmt":"2021-08-17T23:01:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gfhlive.tv\/freshfire\/?p=21762"},"modified":"2021-08-17T18:16:30","modified_gmt":"2021-08-17T17:16:30","slug":"where-vs-how","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gfhlive.tv\/freshfire\/2021\/08\/18\/where-vs-how\/","title":{"rendered":"Where vs. How"},"content":{"rendered":"<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-21762-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/gfhlive.tv\/freshfire\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/August-18.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/gfhlive.tv\/freshfire\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/August-18.mp3\">http:\/\/gfhlive.tv\/freshfire\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/August-18.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.bible.com\/en-GB\/bible\/116\/EZK.37.3\">Eze.37:<sup>3<\/sup> <\/a>\u201cAnd He said to me, \u201cSon of man, can these bones live?\u201d And I answered, \u201cO Lord God, You know.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">We have been looking at Jesus&#8217; intent, Jesus&#8217; question, and Phillip&#8217;s response for the past few days because there is so much to learn as it relates to our walk with God, to leadership, and to relationships with people. The challenge is people are not able to respond appropriately when asked a question<!--more--> because they do not stay with the question for long enough. <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.bible.com\/en-GB\/bible\/116\/JHN.6.5-7\">John 6:<sup>5-7<\/sup> <\/a>\u201c<i>Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, \u201c<\/i><span class=\"s1\"><b><i>Where<\/i><\/b><\/span><i> can we buy bread to feed all these people?\u201d He was <\/i><b><i>testing<\/i><\/b><i> Philip, for he <\/i><b><i>already knew <\/i><\/b><i>what he was going to do. Philip replied, \u201cEven if we worked for months, we wouldn\u2019t have enough money to feed them!<\/i>\u201d (emphasis added). Phillip probably thought, \u2018Is this man Disillusioned? Does He understand the gravity of what is on ground? Maybe I need to enlighten Him, to give Him the big picture that there is no money anywhere.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The truth is that even if Phillip wanted to give Jesus the big picture view on things, when he lands the big picture, he would have answered the question, right? But that was not the case. There was no recourse or reference to the question asked. You would also agree with me that, it was not that Phillip did not know where the bakery was. If the quantity of the bread was not so humongous in Phillip\u2019s mind, Phillip would have pointed out the location of the bakery. Phillip knew where the bakery was, but his focus was on something else. It was not that there will be capacity issues either. Let say the bakery in Bethsaida could only bake fifty loaves per day and we are looking at five thousand men not counting women and children. If that was the issue, Phillip would have said to Jesus, \u2018Lord, there is nowhere to get this volume of bread in this area.\u2019 So, it means that He knew where the bakeries were, and he knew that the bakery had the capacity to supply Jesus&#8217; quest. But his conclusion was there is no money to buy it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Jesus was asking, \u201c<i>Where<\/i>\u201d but Phillip was answering \u201c<i>How<\/i>\u201d &#8211; how is this possible? The issue with Phillip is not a question of \u2018where\u2019, Phillip knew \u2018where\u2019. The issue with Phillip was a question of \u2018<i>How\u2019<\/i> &#8211; how in the world can we afford it? When we answer the questions we are not being asked, we are responding to the things we do not understand even when we understand the question. \u201cDo you want to made whole?\u201d Jesus asked the man that was lame for thirty-eight years and his response was, \u201cI have no man\u2026\u201d We respond to questions based on our own limitation. As human beings, we struggle with \u2018<i>How<\/i>\u2019 a lot. Many times, God wants us to define \u2018<i>What<\/i>\u2019 and we cannot define \u2018<i>What\u2019<\/i> or begin to operate in \u2018<i>What<\/i>\u2019 because we are wondering \u2018How\u2019 can these things be? The angel said to Mary, \u2018You will conceive\u2026\u2019 and she says \u201cHow? I am a virgin\u201d. One of the best things you can do for yourself, in your walk with God, is to leave \u201c<i>How<\/i>\u201d to God.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Prayer<\/b>: Father, I ask for the wisdom to lean into the Holy Spirit so that my responses will always be the God-responses, in Jesus Name.
