It is all about the heart, Caleb\u2019s heart was with God, so he followed God completely. <!--more-->And guess what? Your attitude tells us what is in your heart. Your attitude is the incense that flows out of your heart. Smoke will always flow out. So, do not tell us you have faith when all we can see is fear. Do not tell us you believe God when your attitude, your words, and your disposition is the complete opposite. And that is why people do not enter into the promises of God.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/116\/heb.3.7-8https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/116\/heb.3.10-11\">Hebrews 3:<sup>7-8,10-11<\/sup>\u00a0<\/a>\u201c<em><i>That is why the Holy Spirit says, \u201cToday when you hear his voice, don\u2019t <\/i><\/em><strong><em><u><b><i>harden your hearts<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong><em><i>\u00a0as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness\u2026 So I was angry with them, and I said, \u2018Their <\/i><\/em><strong><em><u><b><i>hearts<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong><em><i>\u00a0always turn away from me.\u00a0They refuse to do what I tell them.\u2019 So in my anger I took an oath:\u00a0\u2018They will never enter my place of rest<\/i><\/em>.\u2019\u201d (emphasis added).\u00a0When the scriptures say, \u201c<em><i>the Holy Spirit says<\/i><\/em>\u2026\u201d who was he referring to? He was referring to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/116\/psa.95.8-11\">Psalm 95:8-11.<\/a> It is all about the heart. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/1\/heb.4.1-2\">Hebrews 4:<sup>1-2<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0\u201c<em><i>Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.<\/i><\/em><em><sup><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/sup><\/em><em><i>For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.<\/i><\/em>\u201d (KJV).<\/p>\n<p>They could not enter into the promise because of the state of their hearts. It is all about the heart. Caleb is telling us that the mountains we will take depend on the state of our hearts, depend on our attitude. Are you familiar with what is called the \u2018Can Do Attitude\u2019? it is all about your attitude. The first thing Caleb teaches us is that a promise delayed is not a promise denied. Keep the promise fresh, keep it in front of you, and hold it before God, particularly this season. The second thing we learnt from Caleb is, your attitude truly determines your altitude.<\/p>\n<p>The third thing we learnt from Caleb is, <strong><b>Make Bold Claims<\/b><\/strong>. We have to make bold claims. I studied the scriptures, Moses never said it was Hebron that was for Caleb. He just said the land of the Canaanites. But in the process of traveling the land, Caleb said, since Moses gave me a blank cheque, Hebron is where I want. Caleb was making a bold claim. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/116\/jos.14.12\">Joshua 14:<sup>12<\/sup>\u00a0<\/a>\u201c<em><i>So give me this mountain<\/i><\/em>\u00a0[hill country, higher ground] <em><i>that the\u00a0Lord\u00a0promised me<\/i><\/em>.\u201d (words added).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><b>Prayer<\/b><\/strong>: Father, by Your Spirit, help me get my mind and heart put right, so I can see God clearly and make bold claims that align with God\u2019s heart, in Jesus Mighty Name<em><i>.<\/i><\/em>\u00a0Amen!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Matthew 5:8\u00a0\u201cWhen you get your inside world\u2014your mind and heart\u2014put right, then you can see God in the outside world.\u201d (MSG, emphasis added) &nbsp; Joshua 14:8\u00a0\u201c\u2026For my part, I wholeheartedly\u00a0followed the\u00a0Lord\u00a0my God.\u201d (emphasis added).\u00a0The state of your heart determines the level of your access to God\u2019s promises and God\u2019s presence.
