When you say to God, “Here I am, I am available and willing. I may be afraid, doubtful, confused, but I am available and willing”. What happens? And we are going to look at Mary, a classic example. Luke 1:35, 37-38 “And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God… For nothing will be impossible with God.” And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.” (ESV, emphasis added).

Mary’s response in other words was, “Here I am. I am available. I am the Lord’s servant.” When God places a call upon your life. When God places a demand on your resources, talent, treasure, and time. I pray you will be able to consistently say, “I am the Lord’s servant. May it be on to me as You have said.” The promise that Mary was trusting here is the promise of the virgin birth. How does that even make sense? Virgin and birth, those two words do not go together. Many of us have daughters, teenage daughters. Now imagine your daughter comes home and says, “I am pregnant”. Your response is, “What do you mean?” And she says, “It is the Holy Spirit.” What will you do? It sounds ridiculous because those two things do not go together.

The only way virgin and birth can fit together is, that nothing is impossible with God. So, my mathematical mind kicked in and came up with this equation. ‘Virgin’ plus ‘nothing is impossible with God’ equals birth. That is the only way those two things can be in the same equation. Let’s bring it home. There are things that you know to be true about yourself. You look at the promise that God has for you, what God has said concerning you. And you say there is no way that promise can be real in your life, except nothing is impossible with God.

For instance, you say, “I am a cynic. I cannot be a person of faith, a Christian.” But guess what? ‘Cynic’ plus ‘nothing is impossible with God’ equals faith. I have seen cynics who are people of faith today because nothing is impossible with God. If you will cooperate with God and say, “Here I am.
