The first is that we need to realize that <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Word (promise) of God is both conditional and unconditional<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of God\u2019s promises<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0are unconditional\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and some are conditional. If you confuse a conditional promise for an unconditional promise or vice-versa, you are going to have issues. You will be confused. For instance, the second coming of Christ is an unconditional promise. God promised that Jesus will come again. It is not hinged on any condition. Jesus is coming again!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, God\u2019s promise to set you on high is conditional. He says in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/1\/DEU.28.1\">Deuteronomy 28:<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201c\u2026<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments\u2026 the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d (KJV). So, if you harken to (listen and do) God\u2019s voice, you will be promoted. Every conditional promise has precedents that need to be fulfilled. If you do not fulfil the precedents, then you cannot say the Word of God is not working. It is not working because you have not fulfilled the conditions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The second thing is that <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">God gives us His Word<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 to live by, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to teach us to trust Him in difficult times<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/392\/PSA.119.50.CEV\">Psalm 119:<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">50<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When I am hurting, I find comfort <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in your promise<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that leads to life.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d (CEV, emphasis added). God\u2019s promise, God\u2019s Word gives us comfort when we are hurting. In difficult times, we learn to trust God. When things are tough, we learn to hold on to God\u2019s Word. God gives us His Word as an anchor. In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Psalm%20119%3A114&amp;version=TLB\">Psalm 119:<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">114<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You are my refuge and my shield, and <\/span><\/i><b><i>your promises<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are my only source of <\/span><\/i><b><i>hope<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u201d (LB, emphasis added). The question is do you have other sources of hope? I hope not. The Word of God is our only source of hope.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The third thing you need to know about the Word of God is that <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He gives us His Word to make us more like Him<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Partakers of His divine nature <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/392\/2pe.1.4\">2 Peter 1:<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">God made these great and marvelous promises, <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">so that<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> his nature would become part of us<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2026\u201d (CEV, emphasis added).\u00a0 God\u2019s Word is so pivotal, it holds us together. God\u2019s Word ensures that we are not blown away or swayed. Even though the thief comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy, Jesus has come to give us life in abundance. Sometimes, we are following Jesus and we are not getting all the benefits that He has for us. Jesus says, I have come that you may have life and the key to this life in God is the Holy Spirit. What unlocks this life, what is actually this life itself is the Holy Spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Prayer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Father, fill me to the overflowing with Your Holy Spirit, in Jesus Name.
