While there is no gift of grit, when nurtured the fruit of the Holy Spirit can make up grit.<!--more--> John Orthberg says about grit, \u201cOver time, grit is what separates fruitful lives from aimlessness.\u201d Grit is what keeps that ship on course. Many of us have dreams, goals, and vision, and that is fantastic. In God\u2019s Favourite House, it is No Small Dreams (NSD). But guess what? An anonymous quote states, \u201cYour dreams are on the other side of your grit.\u201d The fulfilment of your dreams is on the other side of your grit. The grit to stay like Ruth when you face monumental obstacles, I pray that you receive the grace to cultivate it indeed in the Name of Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>Like Ruth, you are made for more in God. You can be Ruth to God. So many believers in Christ are just dating God. They are in for the good times. They are in for the times when worship was fantastic. But when things begin to get really tough, they bail out. The \u201cRuths\u201d with God are married to God, they are not going anywhere, they stick to God beyond the \u201cgood times\u201d. Some young man came to Jesus, amazing story and very popular too. I am sure you know the story but we are going to read it anyhow. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/116\/mat.19.16\">Matthew 19:<sup>16<\/sup><\/a> \u201c<em>Someone came to Jesus with this question: \u201cTeacher,\u00a0what good deed must I do to have eternal life<\/em>?\u201d Big question, great men have asked this question for centuries past and even today.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/116\/mat.19.17-19\">Matthew 19:<sup>17-19<\/sup>\u00a0<\/a>\u201c<em>Why ask me about what is good?\u201d\u00a0Jesus replied.\u00a0\u201cThere is only One who is good. But to answer your question\u2014if you want to receive eternal life, keep\u00a0the commandments<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0\u201c<em>Which ones?\u201d the man asked. And Jesus replied:\u00a0\u201c\u2018You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely.\u00a0Honour your father and mother. Love your neighbour as yourself<\/em>.\u2019\u201d The man was happy. The man should have just kept his mouth shut. But that is the problem with people who think they \u201cknow\u201d. God will give them A levels. The man should have just kept quiet and said, \u201cThank You! By Your grace, I can make that happen\u201d. Guess what? That would be it, that man is set for life.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/116\/mat.19.20-22\">Matthew 19:<sup>20-22<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0\u201c<em>I\u2019ve obeyed all these commandments,\u201d the young man replied. \u201cWhat else must I do?\u201d Jesus told him,\u00a0\u201cIf you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.\u201d But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he had many possessions<\/em>.\u201d He became a kisser. He kissed Jesus goodbye because cleaving was going to cost him \u201ctoo much\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Prayer<\/strong>: Father, help me to hold tightly to You and loosely to possessions, empower me to be a \u201cRuth\u201d to God, in the Name of Jesus.
