For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>God does as He pleases, and no one can question Him. God wants us, maybe ninety percent of the time, to understand His principles and do the repeatable, and the predictable. But God will always leave that ten percent, to let us know that He is God, and we are not.<!--more--> He said to Adam in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/116\/gen.2.16-17\">Genesis 2:<sup>16-17<\/sup><\/a> \u201c\u2026<em>You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden\u2014except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die<\/em>.\u201d God did not need to explain why, because He is God. When you begin to understand Him, and understand that God is God, and you are not. You understand that if that is what He has said, then that is what it is.<\/p>\n<p>Check the scriptures, for everyone who has walked with God, there is a portion of their income that does not belong to them. And that is where the concept of tithing comes in. Someone asked me, \u201cWhy is it ten percent, Pastor, why not two percent? I do not know. Honestly, we can speculate, but I do not know. Some people say that tithing was part of the law. Abraham was not under the law, and Abraham paid tithe. Tithes have existed since the Garden of Eden. What was the fruit of tree of the knowledge of good and evil? It was a form of tithe. <em>You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden\u2014except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil<\/em>. Why did God do that? I do not know. We must understand that God is sovereign, and that is just how it is.<\/p>\n<p>God chose Joseph, and said that he would feed his brothers. Why Joseph? I do not know. But that was God&#8217;s sovereignty. You may try to kill Joseph, bury him, and start rumours about him sleeping with Potiphar\u2019s wife. But you will not succeed. However, if you want to live, he has to feed you. Imagine if Ruben had said, \u201cHow can Joseph be the one supplying us food? If that is the case, then I am not going to eat\u201d. Imagine Simeon had said, \u201cI cleaned his diapers when he was a little boy. So, I refuse to take food from him\u201d. What will happen? Sometimes, God raises someone in a family to take care of everyone else. If you have a problem with it, you will go hungry.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, God puts the grace that will deliver you from ancestral curses on someone you do not like. What are you going to do about it? There is only one person who will lose if you refuse to submit to God\u2019s sovereignty. And it is not God, or the person who has chosen to lift up. Why would it be David that God favoured over Saul? David did more things that were bad, in our own eyes, than Saul. So why David? God is sovereign, and you must understand that.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Prayer<\/strong>: Father, I surrender to Your sovereignty. Please give me a deep understanding of the sovereignty of God, and let Your sovereignty speak for me, in Jesus Name.
