And God says, “I will give you power to trample [to step; to march] upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you” – nothing. In Ephesians 6, this same God says, “put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand. Put on the helmet of salvation, the breast plate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the shield of faith, the sword of the spirit, and your shoes should be shod with the preparation of the gospel”. God is saying the power to trample on serpents and scorpions is released through the gospel. Does that make sense?

Jesus puts it this way ‘You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name’ John 15:16. Jesus is saying He has chosen you to reproduce, to be fruitful. Why should you reproduce or be fruitful? It is so that whatever you ask the Father in Jesus’ name, the Father will do it for you. From this scripture, it is safe to say that your spiritual clout in heaven is directly proportional to how effectively you tell or have been telling God’s story, as well as how you have been connecting people to God. Remember if you produce much fruit, you can ask anything and it will be done because Jesus said so. What then is God’s story? If that person you have been praying for to accept Jesus calls you today and asks you to explain this whole thing about God and Jesus, can you? What would you say? It is at this point that many people will begin to stammer. Some pick up their Bible and attempt to explain it chapter by chapter. Some would start quoting their house fellowship leader or their Pastor. God is not interested in all that. You have to learn to tell God’s story yourself. There are different ways of telling God’s story. However, the simplest I have come across is called the bridge. We shall delve into this tomorrow. Understanding the analogy of the bridge is the simplest way you can tell God’s story to anyone.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me seize every fruit bearing opportunity that heaven presents me, in Jesus Name.

‘This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son.
