Whenever the king consulted them on anything, on books or on life, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his kingdom put together.\u201d (MSG)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When people don&#8217;t understand your value, they lose you easily. And most times, it is after they have lost you that they realize the weight and value of who they have lost. <!--more-->The point is, don&#8217;t focus on uniqueness, focus on distinction. The cost of replaceability determines how dispensable you are. Let\u2019s say you buy a nice dress for five thousand Naira. Then you buy another dress for five hundred thousand Naira. Can you guess where I am going with this? Now imagine that your five-year-old, who has been learning how to use scissors in school, takes his scissors and cuts beautiful circles into your five-thousand-naira dress. You will be upset, right? But the dress is five thousand. Even though you will scold the child, you can replace the dress easily. But if the child goes near the five hundred thousand Naira dress with his scissors, what will happen? The African parent in you will speak! Why? It is the replaceability of that dress. When you make your abilities uncommon, you make your replaceability difficult. When you make the cost of replacing high, replacing you becomes difficult. To increase your distinction, the first thing you do is <em><u>Make Your Abilities Uncommon<\/u><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The second thing you do, pay careful attention to this, is <em><u>Always Bring Your Uniqueness To The Table<\/u><\/em>. This is huge! While you are making your abilities uncommon, always, always bring your uniqueness to the table. You need to catch this now, not later. <em>Always Bring Your Uniqueness\u00a0 The Table.<\/em> While your uniqueness is God-given, if you want to increase the value of your distinction, as you make your abilities uncommon, always bring your uniqueness to the table. The good things that make you\u2014you. The one that heaven wired into you. I know mine, and that is why I don&#8217;t even try to be anybody. It is because I know my uniqueness, and I know what I bring to the table by the grace of God. I don&#8217;t confuse my uniqueness with my distinction or my excellence. I need to demonstrate, build, and work on my excellence and my distinction. But I need to bring my uniqueness to the table.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel <em>always<\/em> brought his uniqueness to the table! Daniel and his friends were selected to eat from the king\u2019s table based on their abilities. But Daniel brought his uniqueness to the table. They offered them food from the king&#8217;s table. But Daniel said, &#8220;Can we be excused because we are a unique people. We do not eat things that have been sacrificed to idols. We do not bow to other gods. This is who we are. This is our uniqueness.\u201d Guess what? Daniel and his friends were competent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer<\/strong>: Father, let Your Spirit of Wisdom and Excellence give breath to my diligence and cause me to be ten times more capable than my peers, in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
