1 Kings 3:9-10<\/sup> <\/a>\u201cGive me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours? \u201dThe Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for wisdom.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Abraham not only Live Thankfully<\/strong>, but he also sought wisdom. Our second lesson from the life of Abraham is to Seek Wisdom<\/strong>. Being content is not being complacent. You should be content because for you to be grateful, you have to be content. But you do not have to be complacent because God has not asked us to be complacent. Abraham was not complacent. Abraham lived thankfully, but he was also seeking wisdom. You have to seek wisdom. When Abraham had the opportunity in Genesis 15:2<\/a>, he asked God, \u201cLord God, what will You give me, seeing I go childless<\/em>\u2026?\u201d He was seeking wisdom. What he was saying in other words is, my serving you is not contingent on that, but we might as well talk about this now.<\/p>\n

Most times, when people pray, they don’t take this approach. We should seek wisdom. Abraham sought wisdom. Ask God what is on His mind concerning the situation. That is what Abraham was asking, \u201cWhat are You going to give me? What is the legacy here because I really can’t see it, Lord?\u201d It is okay to admit that you cannot see it, and you do not know or understand something. For Solomon to ask for wisdom it means Solomon was admitting that he lacked wisdom. Abraham said, \u201cI don’t understand it. You said that I am going to have children, nations, right? But I don’t see anything here. Show me, Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n

And that attitude always, always, always births a response and direction from Heaven. James 1:5<\/sup><\/a> \u201cIf you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking<\/em>.\u201d God will not rebuke you for asking. It is okay to ask God about things you don’t understand. \u201cThis path that You are putting me on, Lord, I don’t understand\u201d. It is okay because God wants us to seek wisdom. Our first lesson from the life of Abraham is to Live Thankfully. The second lesson is to Seek Wisdom.<\/p>\n

Our third lesson is to Believe Boldly<\/strong>. As you live thankfully<\/em> and seek wisdom<\/em>, you need to believe boldly<\/em>. What direction is God leading you? Believe Boldly. Don’t do it half-heartedly, believe how? Believe boldly, courageously, believe with all your heart. Our faith, our belief, is contingent on the fact that \u201cWith God all things are possible<\/em>” (Matthew 19:26<\/a>). So, we believe boldly, knowing that it is not bravado or bone-face as it is called. It is faith in the God who can do all things. Abraham by faith left his father’s house and took the journey. He believed God!<\/p>\n

Prayer<\/strong>: Father, help me to live thankfully, seek wisdom, and believe boldly even as I navigate the remaining days of this year, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
