Then David confessed to Nathan, \u201cI\u2019ve sinned against God.\u201d Nathan pronounced, \u201cYes, but that\u2019s not the last word. God forgives your sin. You won\u2019t die for it. But because of your blasphemous behavior, the son born to you will die\u201d 2Sam.12:13-14 [MSG]<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

You cannot use David as your justification for sexual impurity. David committed adultery once but you are on your tenth round. You are not David; you don\u2019t even have a heart near David\u2019s. You need to pray for one. Sometimes we only find true repentance when God disgraces us publicly and makes us publicly ashamed. It took David over one year to repent. Nathan finally came to meet him and made a public show of his sin. Why did it have to take that long? Nebuchadnezzar was forewarned, twelve months passed [one year], he did not repent. Nebuchadnezzar ate grass like a goat for seven years. After which Scripture states that his understanding came back and he said \u2018I Nebuchadnezzar, I lifted up my eyes to heaven and said there is a God in heaven that rules over the affairs of men\u2019<\/em>. Why does it have to take you seven years of grass eating? I say to God, I do not want to eat grass. But if God loves you, He will publicly disgrace you. Until that happens to some people, they never find true repentance. Look at the woman caught in adultery [John 8<\/a>]. Until she was caught, she did not meet Jesus. She didn\u2019t find true repentance until she was a public spectacle. Some would say, \u2018is she not repenting just because everybody now knows?\u2019 So what? That may not have been the first time she committed adultery. Perhaps the first time she did it, the Holy Ghost warned her and she said, \u201cI\u2019m sorry but Your grace is sufficient\u201d. When Christians begin to talk like that, they are not repentant. The second time, \u201cwe are all sinners saved by grace\u201d. Have you heard that before? But when it was a public spectacle she finally found grace. The Scripture says, \u201cJesus is full of grace and truth<\/em>\u201d. Jesus is not only full of truth, He is also full of grace. Jesus is not only full of grace, He is also full of truth. So Jesus said to her, \u2018neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more\u2019. Jesus did not say, \u201cYou were abused as a child, you have sexual dependencies. When you go for therapy or visit with a psychologist for over six months then you would be fine\u201d. No, Jesus says \u2018Go and sin no more\u2019.<\/p>\n
