In leadership, the attitude of the leader affects everybody else. Leaders we have to be careful, you are carrying a lot of weight. I know that you are carrying things that if the people around you knew about they will be more sensitive to you. They won’t just open their mouths and say rubbish but they don’t know. Yet it is still your duty to maintain the right atmosphere in your house, in your office, and in your domain. It is your responsibility. Imagine this, when you were young, the house is lively and everyone is playing happily. But once your father comes home with a sour attitude fueled by his day at work, the mood in the house suddenly changes. For those of us who are fathers or the father figure in the home, we need to grow up and stop letting our bad days destroy the good days of our children. Say amen to that. We need to grow up! How can your children run into hiding when they hear you approaching? Is it fair that your children consistently have to check your mood before they approach you? While I understand the weight that some of us contend with daily in our lives but still don’t let it spoil the good days of our children. David heard that Absalom was dead and David’s attitude became fowl. And it infected the entire camp. ‘Then Joab went to the king’s room and said to him, “We saved your life today and the lives of your sons, your daughters, and your wives and concubines. Yet you act like this, making us feel shamed of ourselves. You seem to love whose who hate you and hate those who love you. You have made it clear today that your commanders and troops mean nothing to you. It seems that if Absalom had lives and all of us had dies, you would be pleased. Now go out there and congratulate your troops, for I swear by the Lord that if you don’t go out, not a single one of them will remain here tonight. David got up quickly, gathered the men and encouraged them. David could have done that from the beginning. Which means you too can stop giving excuses for foul attitude and sustain joy in your home. And David was restored.
