\u201cI am the Alpha and the Omega\u2014the beginning and the end,\u201d says the Lord God. \u201cI am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come\u2014the Almighty One.\u201d Rev.1:8<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Jesus is Alpha and Omega. Jesus is not just the Alpha and Omega; He is everything else in between. Jesus is at the center of it all. Even though He is the Alpha, even though He is the Omega, Jesus is at the center of everything. H. G. Wells says, \u201cI am a historian, I am not a believer. But I must confess as a historian that this penniless preacher from Nazareth is irrevocably the very center of history. Jesus Christ is easily the most dominant figure in all history<\/em>\u201d. Jesus Christ is irrevocably the center of history. The dating system that we use in the world for instance is; this year is 2015 AD. Everything that happened before Jesus is dated BC, everything that happened after Jesus is dated AD, and Jesus is right at the center of it all. From the beginning of time to the end of time it will always, has always been and it will always be about Jesus. Everything that was made, was made by Him. \u201cFor through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can\u2019t see\u2014 such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him\u201d Col.1:16<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Alpha and Omega means the first and the last and the most important part<\/em>. Alpha and omega are Greek alphabets. The first alphabet in the Greek language is alpha. If Jesus were speaking to an English audience, Jesus would probably have said, \u2018I am the A and Z\u2019. But what you and I need to understand is that Jesus is not only the alpha and omega, He is everything else in between. Meaning, using the Greek alphabets, Jesus was saying in essence, I am alpha, I\u2019m beta, I\u2019m gamma, I\u2019m delta, I\u2019m epsilon, I\u2019m zeta, I\u2019m eta, I\u2019m theta, I\u2019m iota, I\u2019m kappa, I\u2019m lambda, I\u2019m mu, I\u2019m nu, I\u2019m ksi, I\u2019m omricon, I\u2019m pi, I\u2019m rho, I\u2019m sigma, I\u2019m tau, I\u2019m upsilon, I\u2019m phi, I\u2019m chi, I\u2019m psi, and I\u2019m omega. A lot of the time, because we read in Scripture that Jesus says \u2018and\u2019, we think He actually meant just the first and the last alone. But so that there\u2019s no confusion in the text, Jesus says, \u201cI\u2019m He who is, He who was, and He who is to come\u201d. In other words, I am He who was – Alpha, I\u2019m He who is – wherever you are on the alphabet scale, and when you get to the end I\u2019ll be there. So when He said I\u2019m Alpha and Omega, if He had stopped there then you could argue that Jesus meant the beginning and the end. But Jesus went on to say, \u201cI am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come\u2014the Almighty One\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n
