What is the point of eating bread that will turn into gravel in your mouth? Is it worth losing all your teeth? Who knows what is best for your life, you or God? This is the question you have to answer and settle in your heart. And your actions determine your answer to that question. Are you going to be more committed to doing what God says because He knows better? Or will you do what you think is best because it is your body? This is a question we all need to answer. Again, if you are wise, the answer is straight forward. God is wiser than you. Repeat it out loud to yourself, \u201cGod is wiser than me\u201d. #2. Manage My Mind. The second key to staying pure in a sex-saturated world, is to manage your mind. \u201cBe careful how you think, your life is shaped by your thoughts\u201d Pr.4:23 [NCV]. How you think determines how you live. Your life is shaped by your thoughts. So you and I I have to be in charge of our minds. \u201cI will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar\u201d Ps.101:3 [emphasis added]. I would say that the words vile and vulgar from this scripture are apt descriptions for pornography, right? Repeat it out loud to yourself, \u201cI [say your name] refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar\u201d and so shall it be, in Jesus Name. Believe it or not, someone once insisted that I show him where in the Bible God said, \u201cthou shall not watch pornography\u201d. Well, I did not have this scripture then but now I do and I am showing it to you. It is the Word of God. Take charge of yourself and take charge of your mind. \u201cTurn your back on lustful thoughts and give your positive attention to goodness, integrity, love, and peace\u201d 2 Tim.2:22 [Ph, emphasis added]. So when lustful thoughts are springing up in your mind, you turn your back on those lustful thoughts. One practical way of managing the mind is to monitor your media intake. It is because what you see affects you. Think about your diet; can you be healthy from having only popcorn and coke everyday? The truth is even though you enjoy it, it is not possible for you to be healthy. Similarly, the life that keeps feeding its mind and spirit, garbage, will produce garbage. Thought: Mental Fast \u2013 giving up television [social media] periodically to grow spiritually. Prayer [song]: My body is Your Sanctuary (2x). Purify me as gold so I might be bold to say my body is Your sanctuary. Amen!\"><em>Ps. 101:3 [emphasis added]<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Immorality has a pattern, an identifiable process to how it happens. It starts with the <em>thoughts<\/em>, engages the <em>emotions<\/em>, and then translates to <em>actions<\/em>. Accepting sinful thoughts in the mind is the first step. God is clear in His Word about what we should do with sinful thoughts, <em>\u201c<strong><u>Turn your back<\/u><\/strong> on lustful thoughts&#8230;\u201d <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Tim.+2%3A22&amp;version=VOICE\">2 Tim. 2:22 [Ph, emphasis added]<\/a>. The next step seems subtle but it is very dangerous &#8211; emotional, non-physical involvement. A lot of people deceive <!--more-->themselves that because it is not physical, so they are in control; forgetting that God clearly warns, \u201c<em>Be careful how you think, your life is shaped by your thoughts\u201d <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Pr.+4%3A23&amp;version=NCV\">Pr. 4:23 [NCV]<\/a>. And before they know what is happening, they become physically involved and are wondering how it happened.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It did not start with physical involvement, it started where it matters most, in the mind. The physical involvement is just a spin-off. Before long, people find themselves rationalizing their actions, which is what puts it in an infinite loop. You hear statements like, she upset me so deeply so I did it, or I am only doing to him what he first did to me, or if she would have listened to me, this would not have happened, or if he knew how to take care of a woman, we would not have all these problems, or I think I made a mistake marrying her because I just found my soul mate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The thing with rationalizing is that you are never able to draw the line. As long as you are rationalizing your actions, you are handcuffing yourself in the trap. Kay Warren puts it this way, \u201crationalize equals \u2018<em>rational-lies\u2019<\/em>\u201d. The sad truth is, it is impossible to overcome anything you rationalize. As long as you think you are or deceive yourself that you are powerless against it. It was love at first sight and I could not help it. As long as you keep rationalizing it, you would not find a way out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What I have done is show you the steps; now you have to be brutal. Your prayer project for this week is Psalms 119:37 and Psalms 101:3. Pray these two great scriptures everyday for the next one-week.
