It can be likened to accelerating along the path to destruction. May God deliver us from every kind of negative acceleration, in Jesus Name. It has been said, that Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping the other person would die. ‘But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that Your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too’ Mark11:25. You need to let go of what that person did to you and forgive them. It is not possible to forgive and still remain bitter towards the person. Harboring bitterness is staying in the place of Unforgiveness. You are the one drinking the poison and yet you are wishing the person will fall down and die. Who is going to die – figure it out! Forgiving is difficult; that is why we must be deliberate about it. When the tyres of a car are clamped down, that car cannot accelerate. Unforgiveness will clamp you down. Refusing to forgive is like driving a wedge between yourself and acceleration. In essence it is choosing stagnation over acceleration. I have seen people experience strange illnesses because they have refused to forgive past hurt. Take your eyes of the depth of the hurt, obey the voice of God and forgive so that you can be light enough to take flight. I have also experienced God’s leading to seek forgiveness in cases where in my opinion I was not wrong. In fact I deserved an apology but ‘obedience is better than sacrifice’ so I choose to obey God’s leading. This singular action also helps you move on from a place you probably did not realize was holding you back. I have also found that for some people it is just the key they need to unlock their hearts. With God it really doesn’t matter who is right or wrong. What matters is what He wants to do in your life and the barriers to it. You have to forgive.

Thought: Who do you need to forgive today?
