The fourth way people misuse God\u2019s Name is through presumptuous claims such as, \u201cThe Lord told me\u2026 or God said\u2026\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Be careful, just be careful! Again, many people in church are susceptible to this because it is used for strange reasons. Some people use it to manipulate other people. Some people us it to control people. Someone came to my office back in the day and he introduced himself as a man of God, then he said, \u201cGod sent me to tell you to fund this project I am doing!\u201d And my heart broke.<\/p>\n<p>So, I said to him, \u201cSir, by God\u2019s grace I spoke with Him this morning and He told me some things I should do and that was not part of what He has for me to do.\u201d The next thing he said will shock you; he said, \u201cAre you trying to disobey God? Go into a room, pray and then come and tell me what God says.\u201d I said, \u201cSir, right now He has not told me to fund your project. But give me your number and I assure you that as soon as He says so, I will give you a call.\u201d He walked out of my office shaking his head in disappointment as though I was a rebellious brat. Why do people attempt to use God\u2019s Name to manipulate others?<\/p>\n<p>Imagine if this same thing happened to someone who does not know God; what do you think will happen? It would probably scare them, but it is all manipulation and it is so sickening. A lady who worships at God\u2019s Favourite House, was telling me about an encounter she had, with the pastor in the church of a man she was to get married to. They went for counselling and after the counselling them, the pastor later called her to rebuke her, this was what he said, \u201cHas the Holy Ghost not told you to transfer some money into my account?\u201d That is just really sad. She said, \u201cNo! I worship in God\u2019s Favourite House; we are well taught, so you cannot manipulate me!\u201d It is hard to believe, but the painful reality is that these things actually happen. I am sure you know I cannot be making these stories up.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Prayer<\/strong> [song]: For Thou, O Lord, art high above all the earth.
