6th Root of Personal Disharmony: Worry
‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God’ Phil.4:6 [NIV].
A large number of people have a PhD from the school of worrying, while others have made worry a favourite past time. Worrying has become a toy that they relax into on every occasion, during the day and at the end of the day. Philippians 4:6 is a command and not a suggestion from God. God does not want you to worry; a command not to be anxious for anything. God is saying do not worry about anything. So when you worry, you are disobeying God. When you catch yourself worrying, turn it to God and leave it there. God has promised to provide our needs, what is that thing that is keeping you up at night? Is it a need or a want? Then take it to the One who never fails on His promises. ‘And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens… and let them be signs and tokens [of God’s provident care…’ Gen.1:14 [AMP]. Truthfully speaking, what has your worrying solved? Has it been able to do or change anything? Do not let anything steal your joy because joy is a gift from God. God changes things in an instant, put all your trust in Him today and dissolve every worry. God will sort you out. God does not have to show up on your own time table but He will show up. The reason why it appears that a lot of us are waiting longer than usual is because we are playing god. You are doing the worrying by yourself so why don’t you go ahead and solve the problem on your own too. It is time to quit worrying and hand everything over to God, and then you watch God be God. As Christians, we have to learn to trust God because He will never put us to shame. Are you holding unto God or do you have another option. God will wait until you exhaust the other option because your dependence has to be total. When you are ready, then He will be ready. On Christ alone the solid rock I stand.
Prayer: Father, I hand it all to you. Things in the past, days I cannot see and the things that are yet to be. You are my only option and I trust You completely.

Today’s post is particularly life changing. Worrying is not pleasing to God. it takes my mind back to the children of Israel in the wilderness. did they not see what God had done? when we worry we are not very different from them. God that brought me through the last challenge is the same still and He will come through for me in Jesus Name. Really what really is too big for God to do for us and in us…?
