Why Fast: Part 2

‘Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls’ Matt.11:29

Fasting Releases Favour: Esther was faced with the challenge of speaking for her people before the king. She needed favour to enter the presence of the king and not be killed. And also to save the Jews who were to be wiped out. Esther took out three days to seek God, to fast and pray [Read Est.4:16-17]. She went to obtain God’s favour first in the spiritual and she obtained favour before the king. Do you need favour in any area? Do some focused thinking about your life and take it to God in fasting. God will arise and favour you in Jesus Name. It also can be linked to angelic activity. When you fast it is as if doors of favour that appear shut previously begin to open of their own accord.

Breaking Strong Holds: From the first day Daniel began to fast, God answered his prayers [Read Dan.10:12-14]. Some of us have brought requests before God in prayer and are starting to wonder if God has heard or if He will answer. In a lot of cases God has answered already. However, the way the spiritual works is that there are barriers that can hinder the release of the answers. In the case of Daniel it was the prince of persia that was blocking the angel that was supposed to deliver the answer. Daniel engaged spiritually, he began to fast until reinforcement was sent from Heaven. Heaven yielded and an ark angel was sent to break the barrier. Then Daniel got the answer. Fasting is humbling one’s self before God. In other words, you are saying unless God shows up for you, you will not let go. Perhaps you have been asking and you are wondering what is happening. You need to understand that the spiritual controls the physical. I challenge you to focus on the issue and in fasting, present the matter before God and you will break through. Everything you can see today was first obtained in the spirit before there was a manifestation in the physical.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that even as I engage spiritually by Your Spirit I will obtain all that is mine without delay. Assign reinforcements to every delayed answer in my favour in Jesus Name.
