We need to express our desires to God with emotions just like Daniel did. Daniel 9:3 “And I prayed earnestly to the Lord God, pleading with him…”. Daniel was pleading with God endlessly in prayer with passion. This is the same God that made this promise of deliverance. Read the rest of this entry
Daniel 9:2-3 “I found out from studying the writings of the prophets that the Lord had said to Jeremiah, “Jerusalem will lie in ruins for 70 years.” Then, to show my sorrow… I confessed my sins and earnestly prayed to the Lord my God” (CEV)
I have told you several stories of how I saw things that totally changed my life in the scriptures. and till today they still are that powerful. So, what did Daniel read in the book of Jeremiah? This is so beautiful. Contained in Jeremiah’s ‘bestselling book’ , Jeremiah 29:10-12 “This is what the Lord says: “You will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again. For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen.” (emphasis added). Our third lesson from Daniel about praying in and through a crisis is, I Let God Speak to Me Before I Speak to Him. And this is huge. Our final thought yesterday was focused on church history and how many of the early Christians were martyred and killed for being followers of Jesus. Daniel 9:4&9 “…I said, “Lord God, you are great, and we honour you. You are faithful to your covenant and show constant love to those who love you and do what you command… You are merciful and forgiving…” (GNT, emphasis added).

Psalm 77:7-9 “Has the Lord rejected me forever? Will he never again be kind to me? Is his unfailing love gone forever? Have his promises permanently failed? Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he slammed the door on his compassion?”
The dictionary defines crisis as a time of intense difficulty or danger, a time when a difficult or important decision must be made. People experience crisis at different seasons in life.
