1Cor.12:31But earnestly desire and zealously cultivate the greatest and best gifts and graces (the higher gifts and the choicest graces) …” (AMPC)

Yesterday, we looked at the gifts of the Word of Wisdom and the Word of Knowledge enumerated in  1Cor.12:8. I cannot count the number of times or the number of people that have walked into my office wondering how I knew certain things, secret things. “If not that my wife and I discussed this on our way to church and we came in the same car. Checks & Balances

2 Tim.3:16-17 (NIV) “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Anything you leave man to navigate in his own wisdom, man will abuse. God knows this, so He puts checks and balances in place. God says, ‘wives submit to your husbands‘. Read the rest of this entry

Stay Focused!

James 3:12-13 “Does a fig tree produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? No, and you can’t draw fresh water from a salty spring. If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honourable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.

Benefits

Ps.103:1(AMPC) “Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul; and all that is [deepest] within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits”

When we deploy the power of “we”, the first thing we get is help. The second thing is we get Warmth. Eccl.4:11 “Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone?” I am not talking about physical warmth alone, Read the rest of this entry

Unplugged

Eccl.10:10 “Using a dull ax requires great strength, so sharpen the blade. That’s the value of wisdom; it helps you succeed.”

Wisdom is such a powerful stress buster. There were situations in my life that were totally diffused because I was able to look at them through the eyes of wisdom. Read the rest of this entry

Get Wisdom

Philip4:6 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Relax! God is God and you are not. If you carry the whole world on your head what is left for Jesus to carry? That is His job not yours! The man who discovered the concept of stress was a medical scientist. Read the rest of this entry
