Why Fast: Part 3

‘And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of Heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven’ Matt.16:19 [KJV]

Breaking Strong Holds (Contd.): The potency of this scripture [Matt.16:19] is in taking it as it is. We have the keys because we have Jesus Christ and this translates to having influence over the heavenlies. One way of exerting that influence is by fasting. There are forces that are gathered against us [Read Ps.35:1-8]; and one way of breaking their backs is by prayer and fasting. There are times in your life when you will take steps that you are sure that God has asked you to take and you attract affliction. I have had one of such encounters which led me to challenge a so called ‘man of God’ because of the people he was leading astray. The man told my mum he had fired an arrow that will hit me in five years. It did not bother me because I knew that the only way he can harm me is if Jesus is not alive. Interestingly I had a spiritual experience, asleep or awake I can’t even tell but a bullet was fired at me and it hit my hand. I knew that it was from that man. Then an angel came, took my hand and popped out the bullet and my hand was instantly healed. Then legions of angels sorted out the matter. ‘Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them’. One secret in that period is that I was fasting. I did not wait five years to sort it out spiritually, I engaged immediately. Some of us delay on things we ought to sort out immediately. Understand how the spiritual works; you cannot afford to take anything for granted. When something is released in the spiritual, it must land somewhere. It has to land where it came from and not in our lives [ps.35:8]. God says that His Word will not return to Him void, it must accomplish its purpose. The spiritual is real and it succumbs to those that pay the price. When you fast you pay the price for breaking strong holds. Also you have more angels deployed on your behalf warring for your sake. You have the keys to the Kingdom, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven. Use it to your advantage.

Prayer: The Lord of the angel armies, I ask that You give command to Your angels to chase, persecute and contend with every enemy of my destiny in battle even now, in Jesus Name. [Pray Ps.35:1-8]
