Securing His Presence
‘Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me’ Ps.23:4 [KJV]
The major key to stilling every storm in our lives is securing the presence of God. Safety they say is not in the absence of danger but in the presence of the Lord. His presence guarantees your safety and deliverance inspite of the storm. This is why you repeatedly hear people testify that even though they experienced real life storms with waves crashing and all, their boats did not capsize. ‘Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Your rod and Your staff protect and comfort me’ Ps.23:4. Secure His presence and you will triumph over the storms of life. However, it is one thing for Jesus to be in your boat and it is another thing to secure His presence. ‘Jesus was in the back of the boat, sleeping with his head on a pillow. The disciples woke him up and said, Teacher, don’t you care that we are about to die?’ Mark 4:38 [GNT]. Securing His presence means engaging Him. Until the disciples secured His presence, He was inactive even though He was present. Securing His presence simply entails cultivating an atmosphere that invites God to intensify His presence. One sure way of securing His presence is when you praise and worship God. You can do this in your car, at home and even at work. Praise God consistently and you will secure His manifest presence. ‘In His presence there is fullness of joy’. Don’t just do it for a day and stop, cultivate the habit of dwelling in His presence. ‘Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God’ Ps.46.10a [AMP]. Will you focus on the storm or will you secure His presence that assures that the storms are silenced? Securing His presence extends to your personal altar. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit [Ps.27:1-6]. God is talking about you being a vessel for His presence. Then you will experience God’s lifting up above your enemies round about.
Prayer: I’m asking God for one thing, only one thing: To live with Him in His house my whole life long. I’ll contemplate His beauty; I’ll study at His feet [Ps.27:4 MSG]; in Jesus Name.
