Dispelling Storms:Personal Revelation

‘…Elisha prayed, O LORD, open his eyes and let him see! The LORD opened the …man’s eyes, and… he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire’ 2kings 6:17

Personal revelation is key to dispelling both internal and external storms. You need to know without any shadow of doubt that Jesus is in your boat. It requires a personal revelation God wants to open your eyes because you need to have your own personal revelation amidst the storm. No other person’s revelation will work for you. Read 2 kings 6:15-17. Elisha could remain calm in the midst of a storm because he had personal revelation. Even though Elisha told the young man not to be afraid, it was not enough to dispel his fears. The only time his internal and external storms went away was then his own eyes were open. Personal revelation totally dispelled the young man’s storms. No matter how anointed your spouse or your parents are, their revelation is not going to deal with your own storms. Your Pastor’s revelation of God will not dispel your own storms. Like Elisha, he can pray that your eyes will be opened but you have to be willing to have your eyes opened. You need to see for yourself. When the young man’s eyes were opened, what do you think happened to his internal storm? It disappeared. May God open our eyes to also see, ‘For there are more on our side than on theirs!’ The converse is also the case. When you have personal revelation, you will find that people will harass you just because they cannot perceive you worrying. Never mind them, you are not crazy. You are confident in God that ‘He that begun this good work will be faithful to bring it to completion’. ‘The angels of the Lord camps around those that fear God’; that is their job. ‘For there are more on our side than on theirs!’; you need to surround yourself with God’s Word, paste notes around you, listen to it, and say it to yourself over and over again. Until you get to the point that you know that you know that you know. God is set to open your eyes because personal revelation is key to dispelling internal storms. If you know the ones with you, you will not be afraid.

Prayer: Father Lord, I ask that You open my eyes and let me see those that are with me. Build up my confidence through Your Word and Your Spirit, In Jesus Name.
