Bigger and Better
‘Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green’ Ps.92:14.
When you are planted, your life becomes bigger. The Bible says ‘two are better than one’. None of us is as anointed as all of us. When we combine forces our impact is greater. When you connect with other Christians you can do a lot more. When a husband and a wife agree, the Bible says they can chase 10,000. Then picture the explosive effect when ten couples agree. We can achieve much more than we can think or imagine because we are so much better together. None of us is as strong as all of us. We have to learn to build in a community and work together in that community. If you watch the wild life channel, particularly when the lions are hunting buffalos, the buffalos usually move in a pack. Therefore even when the lions have surrounded them, they are unable to harm them because they are hanging together. Then one breaks out of the pack, usually a younger buffalo. The older ones will try to prod him but he will stubbornly refuse to regroup. Then of course he finds green pasture and totally ignores the pack. Before long the lions will pounce on the lone ranger and subdue it. Alone you cannot fight the lions but when we team up there is nothing that will be impossible for us [Matt.18:19]. When you are planted, you benefit from the strength of the team in prayer, experiences and growth. Sometimes people get burnt and develop a shield around them. Such people will never fulfill God’s purpose for their lives by playing it safe. Learn to trust again, deploy the wisdom acquired and step out again. You cannot attain the heights that God has for you if you do not let down your guards. You have to be vulnerable to at least a group of trusted people for you to fulfill your destiny. You probably are right to think that the Church is filled with hypocrites. But guess what, the Church is also filled with godly people. Your scars do not negate the Word of God. It is those who are planted that grow roots and bear fruits [John 15:1-17].
Prayer: Lord, I choose to abide in You. I choose to abide in the Church, Your body so that I will bear much fruit and fruit of eternal value and bring great glory to my Father, in Jesus Name.
