Unboxed
‘He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying’ Matt.28:6
God does the most unusual things. You find that when it comes to situations where you seem to have things all figured out. And you have God in a box of possibilities; He simply refuses to be in that box. God simply refuses to solve the situation the way you have it figured or planned out. You find that things happen in irrational ways. The things you ordinarily would do and get results seem to fail. However, the things you need to do that seem impossible; God will show up, make it work and take all the glory. I often say to God, just show up and take all the glory. When you have God on your side, when the odds seem to be against you, you will thrive. Jesus had all the odds against Him. The tradition of the Jews when someone dies is to wrap the person up in white linen. In other words, Jesus was bound hand and foot. The person, depending on the caliber, is buried in a tomb. This means a heavy stone is rolled to block the tomb. As if that were not enough, the enemies sought permission from Pilate and they got soldiers to stand guard in front of the tomb. Their plan was to stop Him from escaping on the third day [Matt. 27: 62-66]. Isn’t that what the enemy is doing to a lot of us? The enemy thinks he has you bound, checkmated, and additionally surrounded with soldiers. The Good News for you today is that God, your God is going to break out on your behalf. Jesus broke out by the ministry of angels. Guess what, Heaven will deploy angels to fight on your behalf in places where men have sought counsel together and taken hold of your victory. As far as they know, they have you boxed. Yet because you have Christ in you, you are going to be unboxed. Death could not hold Jesus captive; their thoughts and imaginations cannot hold you captive. If you are not on God’s side then the possibility of rotting in the box is very high. However, once Jesus is Lord of your life, you are the image of the risen Lord and you are standing in a place of victory. Give God praise!
Prayer [song]: ‘For death could not hold Him captive, even in the grave Jesus is Lord. For death could not hold Him captive, even in [my life] Jesus is Lord’. Father, so shall it be in Jesus Name.
