Unfulfilled Expectations From God

‘For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope’ Jer.29:11

When it comes to God, you have to understand that God is God. With us, being human beings, we think that if we are able to get certain people to think certain things about us then we are sorted out. In other words, the most important thing in your life is not what your neighbor thinks about you. Too many people spend too much time and energy managing their image. Your life is not defined by what you have been able to make people think about you. Or what your enemy thinks about you. It is not even what you think about yourself. ‘The most important thing in your life is not even what God thinks about you. The most important thing is what you think about God’ A. W. Tozer. What you think about God is the most important thing because it is what will shape your destiny. ‘‘For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope’ Jer.29:11. Some of us wonder, how come not everyone enters that hope and future? The answer is because it is not what God thinks about you that is the most important. It is what you think about God that is potent enough to shape your destiny. If you think God is faithful; guess what? He will show Himself faithful. If you think God is holy, He will show Himself holy on your behalf. If you think God is all powerful, you know that the One with you is greater than anything that comes against you. Guess what? God will show up for you as the Lord Strong and Mighty. If you are one of those who think God is a weakling. Guess what? that will be your exact experience. If you think God is unreliable and as a result you are holding on to your plan B, you will keep struggling until you learn to see Him as the Beginning and the End. The most important thing in your life is what you really think about God. God knows the plans He has for you, however it is what you think about God that will determine whether you enter into His plans or not. If you do not think of Him as Lord of your life, you will continue to run your own agenda.
