Proof Of Ownership

‘So I bought the field at Anathoth, paying Hanamel seventeen pieces of silver for it. I signed and sealed the deed of purchase before witnesses, weighed out the silver, and paid him’ Jer.32:9-10

The Word of God came to Jeremiah to buy a certain land from his cousin. Jeremiah did not handle this task shabbily. He was diligent about the task being careful to treat every detail with importance. Did God not notice Jeremiah’s limitations since he was in prison? Yes He did. However, Jeremiah on the other hand did not use that as a license to handle the task carelessly [Jer.32:9-16]. Some of us have not entered into our wealthy place because we have not been diligent with the little God has placed in our hands. Hanamel was Jeremiah’s cousin but Jeremiah did not sweep any detail under the carpet. How can you start a business deal without signing any document? Did Jeremiah not trust his cousin; did he not do what was right before God and before men? God never leaves out any detail because every detail means something [Ex.12:5; 7; 13 & 46]. The implication of this is that the land was legally purchased and that land represents us. God has bought us, and at high a price [Ps.24:1; Luke 23]. You are accountable to God. Start taking the accounts of your business seriously. You are accountable to God so start taking the tasks that you are given seriously. Your boss may not be there to see how you deal with the details of the task. Your boss may not be able to tell if your reports are doctored. But guess what – God sees, God knows, and God rewards. God says approach everything you do as though you are doing it for Him. The truth many of us fail to understand is that we are actually doing it for God. The Bible says every hair on our head is accounted for. Is it your job that God did not plan or do you think He does not know you are there? You and I have been bought with a price and we must let our lives prove that God owns us. The fact that God handed it to Jeremiah did not mean He took His eyes off the dealings. God is watching you to see how you will handle the people He has entrusted into your hands in your area of influence. Knowing you belong to God brings a different attitude [John.14:30].

Prayer: Thank You Lord for choosing me and calling me Your own. Thank You Lord for paying the price for me. Help me pay attention to detail on every task, in Jesus Name.
