Now What: Sustain The Victory Until You See Its Fullness

‘First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens’ Mark 4:28.

God deals with each one of us differently. For some, they receive their breakthrough instantly. While for others, the breakthrough happens in stages. Still it is important to note that the breakthrough experience is different with each new season in our lives. When the breakthrough happens in stages, it is likened to a germinating seed. Like the scripture reading says, the ‘leaf blade pushes through’. It is suicidal to harvest the plant at this stage (the first sight of breakthrough). A pregnant woman who attempts to deliver her baby three months after conception will experience a loss. Do not truncate the victory God has started in your life. Do not be too hasty to harvest at the first sight of breakthrough. Don’t be discouraged if the harvest takes time. An analogy is given of two individuals with similar ailments. The Word of healing goes forth. Both individuals believe the word, and one of them is instantly healed. For the other person, whom God has chosen not to deal with instantly, but in stages, he or she need not fret or envy or be discouraged. What must be done by that individual is that he or she must sustain the victory until its fullness is seen. Go about your daily business confident that the healing has taken place, even though its manifestation is not immediate. As seen with the 10 lepers who sought healing from Jesus, the manifestation of their healing was not immediate. But as they obeyed Jesus’ word to them to present themselves to the priest, the physical manifestation of their healing was actualized ‘as they were going’ [Luke 17:14]. Therefore, if God is dealing with you in stages, do not compare your breakthrough with him whom God has dealt with instantaneously. You must sustain your own victory until you see its fullness. In order to do this, consistently speak and hear the Word of God concerning your situation to yourself. Do not stop. I repeat, do not stop. One day, your grain will finally ripen then you will have your harvest in full.

Prayer: Lord, teach me not to despise the day of small beginnings. Teach me not to question Your methods. Help me wait for the harvest that You have set before me, in Jesus Name.
