He Came To Give
‘For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.’ Matt.20:28
Jesus was born. Adam wasn’t born and Jesus is God, so Jesus didn’t have to be born but He was born so we can relate to Him. Jesus was born to give. He gave and gave until He gave His life. The same way Jesus was born to give, so were we born to give. As a matter of fact, we will not be able to enter into the fulfillment God has for us if we don’t begin to give. Jesus practically poured out His life. The purpose for living is giving. God gave His son that the son may give His life that we may give our all. Imagine God giving His son and Jesus not wanting to give His life, where would we be? When we give we do ourselves a favour because we give God an avenue to open the gates of heaven and pour down the blessing that there will not be enough room to contain. Abraham gave his only son and he became the father of nations. Jesus gave his life for us, we do not necessarily have to take a bullet for someone but we can give financially, compliments, love, and even our time to those who need listening ears and it will have a huge impact in the life of that person. That was what Jesus’ life did for us, it made a huge impact and it still does. It is important that we give and let the Holy Spirit lead us to give appropriately. Some people give and want the world to know and some give only when you ask. An unknown writer said “When you give only after being asked, you have waited too long”. Yet, some see giving as an avenue to make money. They give only to those that can give them something greater in return. If that is your mind-set, it is no longer giving. Giving is free and from the heart. God gave us His life even when we did not give a damn about Him. When you give you are fulfilling destiny because it is one of the reasons we were created. Christ has fulfilled His by giving His life, let us fulfil ours by being a blessing today.
Prayer: Heavenly father, give me the grace to give without expecting anything in return in Jesus name.
