Taste And See
‘My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me’ Gal.2:20
It is only the person that has tasted an orange that can convince another person about the sweetness of an orange. Similarly, it is only one who has experienced Jesus that can testify convincingly to another person about Jesus. One sure way you can bring the ultimate gift to those close to you but far from God is to tell your own story. No one knows your story better than you. ‘I don’t know whether He is a sinner, the man replied. But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see!’ John 9:25. No one can convince this man otherwise. He knew what he had experienced and he stood firm beside it. No one can confuse you about your personal experience of Jesus. God has given you that testimony to draw people to Him. Tell your story. ‘My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me’ Gal.2:20. The proof of salvation is a changed life. Your story then leads to your testimony of Jesus. Jesus has come to save all who are lost from the three ‘P’s’ of sin – the power of sin, the pollution of sin, and the penalty of sin. Jesus has come to save us from the compulsive power of sin. To break the power that pushes people to sin and lie compulsively. Sin is filth, it pollutes, and that pollution causes suffering. Perhaps sins committed by the individuals or their parents. Jesus has come to save our loved ones from the pollution of sin. He has come to save us from the penalty of sin because ‘the soul that sins shall die’. Everyone is going to spend eternity somewhere, either in heaven or in hell. Make the salvation of those people close to you but far from God priority. For a lot of them God has already been working on their hearts. And this season they are receptive and God is trusting us to give them the ultimate gift of Jesus Christ. Just be open to God this season and He will save souls through you this season.
Prayer: Father, let my life achieve Your purposes this season especially in preaching Christ Jesus, in Jesus Name.
