Your Choice

Genesis 13:10-11 “Lot took a long look at the fertile plains of the Jordan Valley… The whole area was well watered everywhere … Lot chose for himself the whole Jordan Valley to the east of them. He went there with his flocks and servants and parted company with his uncle Abram.”

How do you choose your future? Can you actually choose your future? Imagine, the future presents itself as a series of doors, as though one is standing in a huge room with multiple doors. If the room is dark, all the doors will not be visible. Read the rest of this entry

Watch Out!

Psalm 75:5-7 “Don’t raise your fists in defiance at the heavens or speak with such arrogance.’” For no one on earth—from east or west, or even from the wilderness— should raise a defiant fist. It is God alone who judges; he decides who will rise and who will fall.”

We will kick off today’s devotional with our final thought from yesterday which is, never ever get to a place where you feel so big that you disdain God by disobeying His voice. A long time ago, a man came to my office talking very big, he said one of his many warehouses had goods worth over two billion in it. Read the rest of this entry

Check Up

Philip.4:6 “Don’t be anxious about things; instead, pray. Pray about everything. He longs to hear your requests, so talk to God about your needs and be thankful for what has come.” (Voice)

As with many things in life, when we get the fundamentals right, complex things become effortless. Take spiritual growth, for instance, some people think that spiritual growth is a complex issue, but it really is not, when you focus on the fundamentals. Read the rest of this entry

Trustworthy

2 Chro.16:9 “The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. What a fool you have been! From now on you will be at war.”

Gen.22:2-3Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.” The next morning Abraham got up early. He saddled his donkey and took two of his servants with him, along with his son, Isaac. Then he chopped wood for a fire for a burnt offering and set out for the place God had told him about.” Read the rest of this entry

Appraisal

Genesis 22:1-2 “Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith…  “Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”

Spiritual things are not subject to people’s preferences. If you pay the price, you will be unstoppable. There is a classic story in Genesis 22:1-19 (please read), Abraham heard God say he should take his son, his only son whom he loves, Isaac, and sacrifice him to God. Read the rest of this entry

The Price

Psalm 75:6-7 “This I know: the favour that brings promotion and power doesn’t come from anywhere on earth, for no one exalts a person but God, the true judge of all. He alone determines where favour rests. He anoints one for greatness and brings another down to his knees” (TPT)

We will kick off today’s devotional still looking at the experience I shared in yesterday’s devotional. God told me to give a certain amount to a couple, which I did not have. However, my mind went to a pair of suede shoes I had, and I knew what God required of me. Read the rest of this entry

Will You?

Ps.50:10-12 “For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird on the mountains, and all the animals of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for all the world is mine and everything in it.”

What are you sacrificing today that most people will not sacrifice so that you can live tomorrow as few people will? What are you sacrificing? If you cannot answer that question, it means that you are currently living a mediocre life, an average life, and tomorrow is going to be as average. Read the rest of this entry

In Obedience

John 2:5 “But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

Righteousness and Single-mindedness are the two things that must be in place for us to take bold steps towards God. We have dealt extensively in days past with righteousness and yesterday we began to look at single-mindedness first in prayer. Yesterday we looked at the examples of Joshua and Elijah. All In

Esther 4:15-16 “Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: “Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die.”

In God, you put all your eggs in one basket, and you hand it over to God. That was what Esther did as we see in our anchor scripture today. Esther put all her eggs in God’s basket. The world says to us, do not put all your eggs in one basket, what if God fails? Read the rest of this entry

Mission Impossible

Num.23:23 “Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, no divination against Israel; now it shall be said of Jacob and Israel, ‘See what God has done!’” (NRSV)

Esther 4:7 Mordecai told him the whole story, including the exact amount of money Haman had promised to pay into the royal treasury for the destruction of the Jews.” This passage reveals the extent to which people would go to get what they want, in this case negative. Read the rest of this entry
