Dear Woman
John 20:14 “She turned to leave and saw someone standing there. It was Jesus, but she didn’t recognize him.”
The only thing that could satisfy the thirst Mary had was Jesus. Like we said yesterday, Mary was not impressed with the linen wrappings, or with the head covering that was majestically arranged, and she was not even impressed with the angels. Read the rest of this entry
Him Alone
Isa. 55:1 “Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy grain and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost [simply accept it as a gift from God].” (AMP).
It is possible to come to the waters and not drink if you are not thirsty. Interestingly, it is only what you thirst for that can satisfy your thirst. Nothing else can. Peter and John had left but Mary could not leave, she was thirsty because, at this point, all Mary had was Jesus. Read the rest of this entry
Love & Joy
Gal. 5:22-23 “But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit…” (TPT)
Love is the first component of the fruit of the Holy Spirit listed in our scripture reference. We looked at a part of it in yesterday’s devotional. Today we will pick up from where we stopped. 1 Cor. 13:8-9 “Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture!” Read the rest of this entry
The Exchange IV
Isa.61:7 “Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.” (emphasis added).
God is giving you double honour for shame. Again, I say, have you experienced shame? Then, congratulations because double honour is yours, in the Name of Jesus. Scriptures reveal that God has a soft spot for people that are humiliated. Read the rest of this entry
The Exchange III
Isa.61:3 “To all who mourn in Zion, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, oil of joy instead of mourning, a garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” (NLT & NIV]
God is trading His beauty for our ashes and He is doing it in every area. We are going from barrenness to Fruitfulness, from sorrow to Joy, from bondage to Freedom, from loss to Recovery, from death to Life, from poverty to Wealth, and from shame to Honour. Read the rest of this entry
The Old, The New
Col.1:16-17 “for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth… Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together”
Jesus holds all creation together! Everything is held together by Him including the demons, the angels, and the forces. If Jesus says, “Stop!”, everything stops. In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we command every affliction in your life to stop. Read the rest of this entry
Confident Hope
Ps.27:14 (TPT) “Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you!”
Saturday is the time when you second guess yourself. Psalm 27:10 (TPT) “My father and mother abandoned me. I’m like an orphan! But you took me in and made me yours.” In other words, Read the rest of this entry
Never Empty
2 Kings 4:3 “…Borrow as many empty jars as you can from your friends and neighbors. 4 Then go into your house with your sons and shut the door behind you. Pour olive oil from your flask into the jars…” 7 “…sell the olive oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on what is left over.”
Life is not a straight line, things happen to us. We get battered and we lose stuff. But the mistake most people make is to lose hope because of the things they have lost. Read the rest of this entry
Unwavering Hope
Isa.54:10 (GN) “The mountains and hills may crumble but My love for you will never end, so says the Lord who loves you.”
For us to live a life of gratitude, we must experience Freedom From The Pessimism Of Tomorrow. People become pessimistic when they do not know their purpose in life. God created you for a purpose; Read the rest of this entry
Blessed Assurance
Isa. 54:10 (GN) “The mountains and hills may crumble but My love for you will never end, so says the Lord who loves you.”
For us to live a life of gratitude where we are able to genuinely and consistently say “thank You Lord”, we must experience three dimensions of freedom – Jesus Christ must set us free from the pain of the past, Read the rest of this entry
