C. O. T. II

Psalm 42:1-2 “As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him?”

One thing heaven can never ignore is a hungry soul. Remember the woman with the issue of blood? She was hungry for her healing. The other people wanted an appointment with Jesus or wanted Jesus to go to their house, that was their business. Afterall, they have enough clout to make it happen. Read the rest of this entry

About Tongues, II

Heb.6:12 “and not grow lazy. We want you to walk in the footsteps of the faithful who came before you, from whom you can learn to be steadfast in pursuing the promises of God.” (Voice)

Yesterday, from our reading in 1 Corinthians 14:1-15, we saw that Paul did not have an issue with speaking in tongues, neither did he have an issue with speaking in tongues either in a public place or a private place. However, he had an issue with speaking in tongues in a public gathering to God’s people. Read the rest of this entry

Divine Turn

Proverbs 11:24-25 “One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. Be generous, and you will be prosperous. Help others, and you will be helped.” (NIV & GNT)

By the grace of God, your turning point has begun; therefore, expect a turnaround from Darkness to Light. Expect a turnaround from the Prison to the Palace. Expect a turnaround from Sorrow to Joy in the Name of Jesus. Read the rest of this entry

Invaluable

1 Chr.21:24 “David replied to Araunah, “No. I’m buying it from you, and at the full market price. I’m not going to offer God sacrifices that are no sacrifice. I will not present burnt offerings that have cost me nothing!” (MSG & NLT)

From the way David carried the Ark of God into Jerusalem in 2 Samuel 6 [please read], we can see what true worship really is. True worship happens When I Take Extreme Measures To Do It Right. Read the rest of this entry

Dear Woman

John 20:14 “She turned to leave and saw someone standing there. It was Jesus, but she didn’t recognize him.”

The only thing that could satisfy the thirst Mary had was Jesus. Like we said yesterday, Mary was not impressed with the linen wrappings, or with the head covering that was majestically arranged, and she was not even impressed with the angels. Read the rest of this entry

Come Thirsty?

John 20:10-11 “Then they went home. Mary was standing outside the tomb crying, and as she wept, she stooped and looked in.”

John outran Peter but he did not overstep authority. Peter arrived on the scene and they both went into the tomb. What they saw confirmed what they had been told and they went home satisfied. But not Mary. Think about this for a minute; these were men, ladies came to call you that there is trouble. Read the rest of this entry

Will You?

John 5:4 “For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.” (KJV, emphasis added)

This was God’s way of showing the people that He wants them healed. Some people have argued that there was a spring, an underground supply of water that bubbled up and that is why the pool was bubbling and looked stirred. Read the rest of this entry

By The Spirit III

1Cor.12:31 “But earnestly desire and zealously cultivate the greatest and best gifts and graces (the higher gifts and the choicest graces) …” (AMPC)

1 Cor. 12:9-10to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.” (NKJV). The third gift is the gift of Faith. There are three types of faith in the scriptures. There is a saving faith. There is the fruit of faith. And there is the gift of faith. Taste Test

Ps. 119:103 “How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.”

When people encounter you, what taste does it leave in their mouths? Bitter, sweet, or bland? God wants people to encounter us as His children and have an unforgettably sweet taste, a sweetness that they cannot shake off. Remember our illustration from yesterday’s devotional? Disarm Distraction

Isa.8:13 “Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble.”

The King James Version reads “Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.” Do not be afraid of anything or anyone else? Read the rest of this entry
