Biblical Attitudes, I

Colossians 3:23 “Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others.” (TPT)

If you want God’s blessing on your work, the first Biblical attitude for work metamorphosis is, You Must Work Enthusiastically Wherever You Are Right Now! Wherever you find yourself right now, you must work with passionate enthusiasm, and bring your best self to the table. Read the rest of this entry

Choose Carefully

Proverbs 20:6 “Most people will tell you what loyal friends they are, but are they telling the truth?” (LB)

Over the next few days, we are going to experience relational metamorphosis. The truth is that the greatest joy you will feel and experience in life will come through people. At the same time, the greatest pain you will feel and experience in life will come through people. Read the rest of this entry

Close Enough

Isaiah 30:21 “Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.”

For someone to speak into your ears, the person has to be close to you. And if the person is speaking into your ear, most likely, he or she will not be shouting. God whispers because He is always close. God is closer and more intimate than you think. Read the rest of this entry

Stand

Ephesians 6:13 “…and having done all, to stand.” (NKJV)

When have you felt the lowest in your life and how did you handle it? Or are you at what you will consider your lowest right now? God has a Word for you in season. Philippians 4:4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! ” This is God’s heart, Read the rest of this entry

Your Response, VI

Isaiah 60:5 “Your eyes will shine, and your heart will thrill with joy, for merchants from around the world will come to you. They will bring you the wealth of many lands.”

Take It Back, V

Rom.14:17 “The Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and JOY in the Holy Spirit.” (emphasis added).

Take It Back, IV

Psalm 126:3 “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with JOY.” (NIV, emphasis added).

The Lord has done what great things for us, so we focus on the great things that the Lord has done, and we are filled with joy. The opposite is also true; if you do not focus in on the great things the Lord has done for you, you will not be filled with joy. Read the rest of this entry

Take It Back, III

Psalm 51:12 “Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.”

The second thing to do to get your joy back is to analyze the cause. Lam. 3:40Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.” (NIV, emphasis added). So far we have identified that an unbalanced schedule, an unused talent, an unconfessed sin, and an unresolved conflict sap joy Read the rest of this entry

Take It Back, II

Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”

After we have admitted that our joy is lost, the next thing we need to do to get our joy back is to analyze the cause. We have to identify the kill joys and we are going to run through a few to get you started. This list is not exhaustive, but it is pretty detailed. Read the rest of this entry

Take It Back, I

Ps.43:4 “There I will go to the altar of God, to God—the source of all my joy. I will praise you with my harp, O God, my God!”

In yesterday’s devotional, God began to talk to us about the importance of having joy in our lives as His children. Cranky Christians are bad witnesses. So, how do we get our joy back and how do we sustain our joy? Seven things! Are you ready? Read the rest of this entry
