The Exchange I

Job 42:5-6 “I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.”

Sometimes, because we cannot see very far, we tend to argue with God. We look at our lives and we question God’s heart and His goodness. Why did You not do this and why did You not answer that prayer. Read the rest of this entry

Beautiful

Isa. 62:3 (AMPC) “You shall also be [so beautiful and prosperous as to be thought of as] a crown of glory and honour in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem [exceedingly beautiful] in the hand of your God.”

Isa.61:2 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.” (emphasis added). The time for the Lord’s favour has come. Read the rest of this entry

GOD Of Salvation

Ps.20:7 (NIV) “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. 8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.”

Philip.2:9-11Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honour and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

About Time

Luke 5:8,10-11 “When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, “Oh, Lord, please leave me—I’m such a sinful man.” Jesus replied to Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people!” … they left everything and followed Jesus.

It is God’s goodness and His kindness that leads to repentance. When people come to the realization that there is nowhere and no one outside God that can heal, save, deliver, and renew, they genuinely turn to God. Peter had Read the rest of this entry

His Name

Acts 2:21 “But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”

Yesterday, we observed from examining the lives of the characters in our anchor scripture (Mark 5:21- 43), that none of them had a relationship with Jesus but He answered their prayers. The truth is, you do not need to have a Read the rest of this entry

Fully Loaded

1 Peter 1:9-10 “The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls. This salvation was something even the prophets wanted to know more about when they prophesied about this gracious salvation prepared for you.”

I used to have what I would describe as a carnal love for cars until God sanctified me. My wife, on the other hand, does not admire cars that much. However, Read the rest of this entry

‘Sozo’

Acts 4:12 “There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved” (emphasis added).

One of the keys to Bible study is asking questions about what you encounter in God’s Word. From our scripture reference today, for example, Peter says, Read the rest of this entry

Response-ability

Luke 23:32 “Two others, both criminals, were led out to be executed with him. 33 When they came to a place called The Skull, they nailed him to the cross. And the criminals were also crucified—one on his right and one on his left.”

The fact that Jesus came, and Jesus associated with the low lives is not an automatic salvation for them. The fact that Jesus has paid the price for us does not make salvation automatic. Read the rest of this entry

Turn To God

Psalm 40:3 “He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.”

A time will come when there is nothing in your bank account that can help you. A time will come when even the number one prophet in the land cannot help you. Read the rest of this entry

This Love

John 20:16 “Mary!” Jesus said. She turned to him and cried out, “Rabboni!” (which is Hebrew for “Teacher”).

Immediately Mary recognized that the person she was speaking to was Jesus, the one she had been looking for. She must have leaped toward him, with arms stretched out to hug Him tightly as she would normally do. Read the rest of this entry
