How to be Spiritually Rich IX

…Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I have earned five more’ Matt.25:20b

Lesson 6 (cont.): Willingness to take spiritual risks. The truth is that you do not need faith if you are not taking any risk. Check your life, are you taking any risk in your life right now that if God does not show up you will be in trouble? If there isn’t then you are not living with faith. ‘The just shall live by faith’ and ‘without faith, it is impossible to please God’. In Gods Favourite House, the church where I currently pastor, we are determined that God will get the most pleasure from us. You have to be determined that God will get the most pleasure from your life and your home. There are only three categories of people in life; there are risk takers, caretakers, and undertakers. Everyone falls into one of these categories. You can either be a risk taker, caretaker or an undertaker. Concerning your marriage, think, are you a risk taker, caretaker [just maintaining status quo], or an undertaker [perhaps burying the marriage]? You are in one of these three categories in every area of your life. Spiritually poor people are more afraid of loosing battles than they are excited about winning battles. Spiritually rich people are more excited about winning battles than they are about loosing battles. Let me tell you a truth that most people would not admit to, every body is afraid. Even the boldest person is afraid. In fact boldness is looking fear in the face and doing what you need to do regardless. You may not believe it but the truth is I was totally scared when God told us to start GFH. I said to my wife ‘where are we going to start from?’ She said we would start from our living room. In my mind I thought this woman does not know what she is talking about. But I did not succumb to my fear. Boldness is looking fear in the face and saying ‘let God be God!’ That’s boldness. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind’ 2 Tim.1:7. So don’t wait until your fear goes, the fear will never go. You must conquer it by your bold actions.

Prayer: I decree according to the Word of God that I have not received the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. I will boldly take risks for God, in Jesus Name.
