Established in Righteousness I
‘And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children. In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee’ Isa.54:13-14 [KJV].
The second step to growing personal roots is being established in righteousness. In other words, God is saying oppression, terror, fear, jealousy, approval addiction; all those things that are plaguing people that lack personal roots would be far from you when you are established in righteousness. ‘A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved’ Prov.12:3 [KJV]. Some people in the process of trying to establish themselves think they have to be wicked to others. God is saying to you today ‘a man shall not be established by wickedness’. It is wickedness for you to steal the resources of a whole nation while millions of people are dying from the lack of resources. It is wickedness for you to oppress people who cannot fight back. Your house-helps for instance, you think because she is your house-help you can oppress her because she cannot fight back, because she does not have a voice. It is wickedness. The Bible says ‘a man shall not be established by wickedness’. It is wickedness for you to step on your driver’s head and treat him like crap. It is wickedness for you to treat ladies at work with courtesy, get home and treat your wife shabbily. It is wickedness for you to respect other men and insult your husband. It is wickedness for you to deprive your children of the discipline they need so that their future can be great. It is wickedness for you to spare the rod when you know your child is going off because you want to be his/her friend. In our generation, we want to be the friends of our children. It is good to be their friend but you are their parents. They have enough friends but they need their parents so please be their parents. In our parents generation the father was the father and the mother was the mother. ‘but the root of the righteous shall not be moved’. The key to having personal roots is being established in righteousness. The Bible says ‘bring up your child in the way of the Lord’. God help us all in Jesus Name.
Prayer: Father, I ask that You lead me along the paths of righteousness so that my life will bring honor to Your Name, in Jesus Name
