Growing Financial Roots

Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.’ Col.2:7

A tree is as established as its roots. If the roots of a tree are not holding it firmly in the ground, the tree cannot be established for long. ‘And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.  Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulnessCol.2:6-7. It is in following Jesus continuously that you are able to submit to the root growing process. If you want to be established spiritually then you must grow spiritual roots. If you want to be established financially then you must also grow financial roots. The nature and the function of the roots is such that it makes it possible for the tree not to depend on atmospheric conditions for nourishment. In other words, during winter the tree may have lost all it leaves and appears to have dried up but the root is in the ground. When the season passes, the tree is able to blossom again because the tree is rooted. When you grow financial roots, seasons will come and seasons will go but you will be standing strong and you will overflow with thankfulness. And so shall it be in Jesus Name. A person that has financial roots is financially secure. Anyone who has successfully grown financial roots will experience financial security. However many people approach these things differently because they erroneously think stashing away money is equivalent to financial security. People erroneously believe that if they can hoard a lot of stuff then they have security financially. That is not necessarily the truth because there is a God in heaven that determines who is secure and who is not. Over the next few days we will be learning how to grow financial roots from the example God gives us in Luke 12:16-21 [NIV].

Prayer: Father, You are my source, please teach me how to deepen my roots in You so that I would be totally unaffected by the ever changing seasons, in Jesus Name.
