Vitality I
‘He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal. He renews your youth—you’re always young in his presence’ Ps.103:5 [MSG]
An eagle is full of life. It has the power to endure and the capacity for survival. The eagle is full of vitality. The reason it appears that the eagle is full of vitality is because the eagle knows when to renew its strength. In fact when the eagle is about thirty years old, its physical life becomes very difficult. Its conditions begin to deteriorate. Its talons loose flexibility and cannot properly grasp things. The beak of the eagle becomes dull and bent. The wings and the feathers get heavy and dull which impairs the flight ability of the eagle. So at about thirty the eagle goes through a physical crisis. Yet the eagle does not go into a bout of self-pity like other birds. Instead the eagle retreats to the top of the mountain and hides itself in the cleft of the mountain. It will then proceed to break its own beak by hitting it on the rock until it breaks off. It also breaks its own talons and sheds its own feathers. The eagle in this state is most fragile and vulnerable. This painful process takes about five months. The eagle is able to endure the pain and remain hidden within the rock. But guess what, new beak, new talons and feathers will grow. Everything that was shed will be fully restored. After this process the eagle comes out ready for another thirty to forty years. ‘But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint’ Isa.40:31 [KJV]. The chicken or parrot never recovers when it loses its beak and feathers but the eagle recovers. You will recover in the mighty Name of Jesus.
God wants you and I to have a system of vitality, a system of strength renewal. So as eagle believers we must learn the secret of renewal and vitality. The key can be found in Isaiah 40:31 ‘But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…’. The eagle went into the rock and renewed its strength. Jesus is our rock. The key is in knowing how to wait upon the Lord.
Prayer: Father, thank You for wrapping me in goodness – beauty eternal. I am renewed daily in youth even as I dwell in Your presence, in Jesus Name
