Un-communicated Demands II

‘For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: there will always be flour and olive oil left in your containers until the time when the Lord sends rain and the crops grow again!’ 1Kings 17:14.

The story is told of a church that was raising funds for their land. They had a member who was on welfare and so they did not want to ask her for anything. Yet the pastor understood that it is God’s work so he decided to approach her for a contribution. After all, if all she gave was a dollar God will bless her for it. When he asked the woman, she said she had been waiting to see if anyone would ask her to sow. So she told the pastor to wait and she went home and brought shares of IBM worth up to nine million dollars. She said she has been keeping it for the Lord. She gave it all and the man was blown away.

The widow of Zarephath could have said ‘I know you people, you have come again, you are after my resources. I will not give you’. Who will die of hunger? If she had turned the man of God back and decided to eat the supply that she had. She would have eaten it and then what would have happened to her? But what would have happened to Elijah? God will still feed him. Jesus said ‘I will build my church’. The owners of the donkey had no clue that there was an un-communicated demand of heaven on that donkey. Jesus said ‘go and bring the donkey to me, if anyone asks say to them the Lord has need of the donkey’. The boy was packing his lunch but there was an un-communicated demand of heaven on that lunch. When he was leaving his house, he thought the lunch was his. The boy probably had other plans. The owners of the donkey probably had other plans. And the widow of Zarephath definitely had other plans, which she told Elijah. Elijah said ‘set your plan aside, you are about to see the glory of the Lord’. God is saying to us today, including myself, will you set your plans aside? What is before you cannot be managed with a plan? It might seem as though giving up your last will stretch you but remember the clay does not become beautiful until it undergoes stretching in the hands of the Potter. In order to prepare for a miracle, assess what you already have to work with.

Prayer: Father, please help me identify heavens un-communicated demands so that I can align fully to this season of miracles in my life, in Jesus Name.
