Weapons of Warfare

‘For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)’ 2 Cor.10:4 [KJV]

Unlike the physical weapons of warfare, the weapons of spiritual warfare are entirely different. As a believer you need to know them and know how to deploy them in the place of battle. The weapons of our warfare include but are not limited to the name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus, the Word of God, praise and worship. The Bible says ‘let the high praise of God be in their mouth, and a two edge sword in their hands’ Ps.149:6 [KJV]. Our weapons are mighty through God and not apart from Him. So what you see is not all there is, there is more to life than you can see. In fact, there is much more that you cannot see than you can see. Jesus explained that from the days of John the Baptist up until now the Kingdom of God has suffered violent assaults and the violent take it by force. In other words, the Kingdom of God has been forcefully advancing and violent people are attacking it. How does this apply to you? It is when your finances prosper that the Kingdom prospers, that is, if you are a Kingdom person. It is when your health, your home, and your children prosper that the Kingdom prospers. And for those areas to advance, it has to be done forcefully. So in order for the Kingdom to prosper you must be deliberate about succeeding.

Every battle takes place on a battlefield. So you must know where the battle is taking place in order to successfully deploy your God given arsenal. A lot of emphasis has been placed on the battlefield of the mind. Yes the mind is a battlefield but like I say to my friends in the western world there is a battlefield in the spirit realm also. In fact it is my opinion that the spirit realm is the first battlefield. ‘We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers…’ where do they exist? A lot of the battles we deal with in our minds are because we have not dealt with them in the spirit realm. We are spiritual beings; man is a spirit so we can operate in the spirit. As a child of God if you know there is an area that you are facing intense spiritual warfare you can engage in the spirit and sort it out.

Prayer: Father, give me a deeper understanding of the weapons that You have made available to me for warfare and the battlefields that exist around me, in Jesus Name.
