The Holy Spirit

‘But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you’ John 14:26.

There is more to life than meets the eye. All you see is not all there is. Even the people that live all around you are not the people you are physically seeing. The people really are spirits in those bodies. And you are a spirit yourself. There are battlefields in the supernatural. There is a spiritual battlefield and the battlefield of the mind. We have to know how to navigate spiritually. In this supernatural there is God, the Almighty, the Father of all spirits representing the positive supernatural and all His children with Him. Then there is the negative supernatural consisting of satan and his demons and all his agents with him. Regardless of the operations of the negative supernatural, as children of God we have authority over the negative supernatural by aligning with Jesus. Even though there are forces against us, there are also forces for us. They that are for us are more numerically and qualitatively than they that are against us. The Bible says ‘once God has spoken, twice have I heard that power belongs to God’.

The Holy Spirit is God Himself. He is the Spirit that proceeds from the throne of the Father. God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. We need to understand that the presence of God is with us and He is a person. The Holy Spirit has all the qualities of the person. He can speak, be quiet, be angry, be hurt, be grieved, be upset, He reasons, and He is real. He is not just a mist, fire, or a dove even though those are symbols that represent His personality. He is a person. The best thing that can ever happen to a Christian is to cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit. How do you cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit? If you want to develop a relationship with God, talk to the Holy Spirit. There has to be dialogue and there has to be communication between you and the person of the Holy Spirit. If there is anything you should take away from today’s devotional, let it be the fact that you have to develop a vibrant relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Precious Holy Spirit, I invite Your presence. Fill me with a burning desire to be with You and help me cultivate the habit of speaking to You, in Jesus Name.
