Inspite Of Dysfunction II
‘One day the girl said to her mistress, “I wish my master would go to see the prophet in Samaria. He would heal him of his leprosy’ 2 Kings 5:3
With all the boldness in the world, the young Israelite slave girl put forward her suggestion to the general’s wife. You and I must learn to function in spite of dysfunction. Naaman was leprous but the king had to lean on him. Leprous people usually have a colony; they do not even come into the society. Even though Naaman was leprous the king had to put his hand on him at the risk of getting contaminated. Naaman was that important. Even though he was leprous, Naaman had a wife and a beautiful wife at that. I’ll tell you how I know, generals always marry beautiful wives. Naaman, even though he had leprosy, had a beautiful wife so what is your excuse? Those excuses that you think are justified are doing only one thing – crippling you. You cannot say the reason why you have not made something of your life at age thirty is because you were abused as a child. While abuse is very bad but you cannot allow it to define your destiny. Excuses can go on for life but you are inexcusable. If you don’t fulfill your destiny it would be your fault, not the devils or his agents fault, your fault. You must take personal responsibility for your destiny and you will fulfill your destiny in Jesus Name. ‘I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises’ Ps.34:1. At all times means that you do not praise the Lord based on the seasons of life rather you praise the Lord inspite of the seasons of Life. I have encountered some church volunteers/workers that when they are not feeling well they just won’t attend church. They will wait for everyone to visit them and throw a pity party around them. I do not attend those kinds of parties. You can lick your wound yourself or get up and serve God! You have to learn to function inspite of your pain or dysfunction because therein rests your greatness. And guess what, as you do that, God will connect you to your deliverance. Zechariah had pain but he still functioned in the temple, burning incense and God connected him to his deliverance. ‘Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits’ Ps.103:2 [KJV].
Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace to serve You inspite of my dysfunction or challenge, in Jesus Name.
